Horsepower/Killowatts?

how do you convert horsepower to killowatts? ie- how many horsepower equals one kw? mechanics just got their new dyno up and running and since my car was in there we whacked it on for a bit of fun, my readout is in hp though so wanna convert it to kw

Mac's come with a little unit converter widget, i'm sure you can download one for win, it's extremely useful.

custom td05, siamese downpipe into 3 inch exhaust, fuel pump, bigger injectors, split fuel rail, chipped ecu, custom intake, apexi avcr boost/injector controller, thats bout it, was running 18psi on the dyno, need to build myself a strong bottom end as that sorta power gunna kill this engine pretty quick lol

By far the easiest way IMO, and how you can do it in your head almost instantly ...

*) If you have the kilowatts, add a third of them to get the horsies

*) If you have the horsies, take off a quarter to get the kilowatts

It is about as accurate as you can get without a calculator.

What you mean by strong bottom end? whats it got at the mom?

most rebluids ive heard of are sti crank and sti/forged rods and ACL bearings? some people say stick with subaru bearings

eg I claim 185kW but = 244 Hp

1hp = .745kw

kw always sounds more tough for some reason - that more for import type power i reakon..

330 hp dont sound as good as 220kw to me..but thats just me and my metric culture

Got a couple closed deck blocks at home (past victims lol) just going to get my mechanic to build one of them up with forged internals etc may go v3 heads etc depending how carried away i get. got a new project in the weekend so want to get that up to scratch first.
