so if i was to convert my bf legacy to front mount using this kit:

url]http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=390054778[/url]

if i cut the hole that redline reckons you do would that make my car fail a wof?

Would depend on if the inspector got a bit o nooky or not the night before probably. ;) ;)

If you do this be very crafty about it and repaint,, needs to look perfect! i.e. not altered.

Why bother??

Soopercooler easy to fit... no holes to cut..works well for 250Kw @ 394Nm @ 4800 rpm.. ATW in 4th.. EJ 20 @ 20 psi No cert req!

what turbo you using to get 250wkw at 4800RPM?

Modified VF22 that will produce 25 psi....Cold air is the real trick along with high compression ratio and running leaner than most would dare too! a lot more to high Kw and torque than just the turbo.

That's a very early sack of power must make it good on the street. Earlier than my mates td04 how high compression and higher than 12.5 afr?

No where near 12.5:1 compression??,, Leanness? ;D.. well lets just say its lean enough to melt your pistons if other things are not done to prevent this from happening. Can build you one! have spent many years as an engineer studying how too get the most out of any engine. :)

Have you got a dyno plot with a power curve? I can see. If it can do those results is be keen.

Give you one with your car when fitted and re tuned after 1000km(have my own..don,t have a scanner)

what sort afr - 13.5?

i only ever dare run 11.75-12 maxxx ever

lol

usually keep 11.5-11.7 range

its not a stock ej20 engine that u have got is it - stock sti is like 8.5 compression?

wud u then say, normally no one will be able to match ur output with a standard sti engine with the soopercooler fitted?

not questioning ur claim etc...just curious on things bro..

i did a read up on the set up a while back its not a bad idea.. i ran around for a while with the stock air/water set up i just rewired the factory pump so it runs all the time and swaped out the coolant for redline stuff.. makes sense to fit bigger cooler on the front to help keep the temp down more.. guess it depends wat you want out of the car..

lol ! running it lean as a mofo just to get 250kw is not only stupid but its dam desperate ! i get nearly 235 on a stock Vf23 . stock ej20g and stock 6s ecu . . . your asking for an engine failure if you ask me ! oh and my air fuel ratio stays under 11.5 . . .

Certainly not a stock engine that i have built, You got that right.

I would say that the soopercooler will improve the overall performance of any standard STI engine with a top mounted Air to Air intercooler. Def more power from a standstill.(Initial torque will increase dramatically! :o)

Less lag than your front mount installation but probably the same IAT when travelling at 100k or above.

AFR around 15 on the cruise, Once boosted and in the cam zone it comes back to near 12.

Comp ratio? Now that would be telling a bit too much.Higher than one would expect! ;)

Correct! it is unlikely any sti (standard engine EJ 20) will match or come close to the output/performance of my built up machine.! :)

I failed my cert on a FMIC having cut away at the bumper support ever so slightly. So changed from bumper support and then passed and got certed for it, was told when getting certed, that it is unessasary to cert frontmounts as long as everything remains uncut. But in saying that my cert plate says i have one.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
