What to do...

Hi all, one of our cars has had a scrape in a tight carpark. We took it to a local panel beater who we have used before and they quoted $1500 to repair it. It seems a bit expensive to me, so i want your opinions. Its a stock 96 WRX Gravel express with about 180K on the clock, so it may not worth us spending $1500 on it. Does anyone know if this is a reasonable price for a repair like this and can anyone recommend a good panel beater in Wellington?

repair-2nd hand door orrepair the door and rear arch

seems resonable to me.thats ait of damage there.and your rear quater and front door will need to be resprayed or blended out.

take these under consideration.

offer them a cash offer.

50-$150 for second hand door from wreckers

200-400 for painting

anything more and its a rip

+2 thats all there going to do anyway source the door and fit yourself then take it to them for painting.

My partner just told me it was actually $2000 that the panel shop quoted , not $1500. $1500 is the excess.

if your going thru insurance i wouldnt even bother especially if you excess is $1500, save yourself some $$ and organise it yourself......not to be sexist but dont send the little lady in cos they will see her coming and rub their hands and over explain it to charge more...shop around mention the word "CASHIE" and youll find someone will do it for cheap ;D

Should be able to buy exact same door,same colour in mint condition for $150/$250.

Then half hour to swap over....Easy.

Wow 2k?! Ive been quoted just over 2k for a full respray! That's me supplying paint etc, but still.

You could always pay deathz0r a visit...He doesn't need the doors, Go steal em ;D

get a rubber dent puller, and a sander, sand the whole door once you've pulled the dent, then respray. TADA!

50 bucks fix.
