Removing Guard

I'm just trying to remove the driver's side guard so I can have a bit more room at getting the intake resonator out.

How does one actually go about removing it?

I know there's bolts in the pointed locations. Are there any other sneaky ones??

Im wanting to desnorkel my GC8, guessing it'd have similar locations?

Ah good point. Will the guard sorta slide off once it's all unbolted??

theres more bolts behind the headlight/bumper ..... well there was on my wagon so be prepared to drop the bumper

Ive to change my bumper too, so i'll do mine all at once.

Are bumper removals pretty straight forward? I'm expecting a butt load of annoying plastic clips to break on me!!!!

yea they have the inserts with the stupid plastic screws that dont like to undo .

intake resonator... jack the car up, take of the wheel drivers side, pull the arch liner out of the way then pull the resonator out there...

guard off is the hard way no???

Legacy Guard has 1or2 bolts behind headlight too

If it's anything like a Legacy you won't need to take the guard off

Once you have the arch liner out of the way (don't need to completely remove it) have a look from underneath the car.

It's attached by one bolt inside the guard. Rest of it is held in by a bolt near the air ram if I remember right. Then you can just pull it out

bolt at the front of the resonator, i took to the plastic of the resonator with a pair of conduit cutters, as I couldnt undo the bolt.

saves pulling the guard / bumper etc... take you 20 mins / 1/2 hour tops.....

I was thinking of taking the guard off so I can also see where I can put some form of ducting from the airbox to somewhere near the bumper or a gap where a good amount of cold air can flow in.
