check if there is a load on one of the wire of the alternator. usually if theres no load into them the switch in the alternator wont work therefore it wont turn on. this happened to one of my old mate with a ver1/2 wrx they trying to converted their dash board to a ver4 but fail and they didnt connect the speedo cluster... battery keeps dieing cause there was no charge from the alternator.

if i remember right the its the smallest wire to the alternator think it was either blue or white. check the voltage from that also

Most definatly the alternator, should be as said 14+V at idle, to be sure you have just battery volts, turn oh heater and Headlights while testing the volts, if it dips below 12 volts then yup just running battery,

120 for an alternator is damn cheap so i guess you get what you pay for, take it back tell them it no go see if they will replace it...

they better, it had a 30 day warranty on it. only trouble is they said its their last one, so worst that can happen is ill get a refund and have to find another 3 pin alternator..

yeah probably a square plug or 4 pin.

this one is round plug and 3 pin
