the way mines done avoids the cert issue sort of...... the crown wheel in the center diff is removed so no drive gets to the front diff , front axles can stay in and in a visual way it still looks 4wd .

the center diff is still welded.

dont know how it handles as im yet to drive it, some people say the way its been done is bad because the crown wheel plays a big part in the trans oil flow.

i dont think you have to weld the axle holes shut either.

I have the front diff removed, no driveshafts, and to block the holes where the axle stubs used to be I used brass frost plugs which you get from repco.

I reckon it looks factory like that, and thts how il be taking it for a wof, its had 2 previous wofs like that and not dodgey ones.

there is no problem with removing the crown wheel, leave pinion as is (Helps lubrication that is lost by removing crown) .As has been advised ,two frost plugs will blank off holes.

You should have a cert for this mod to be strictly legal.

Why peeps do this is still a mystery to me!! However each to their own too i say!

bak to my most important question that im still unsure of that is am i able to fully remove front diff as it wont be in use any way thanks alot

Yes you can, my front diff is removed completely, left pinion as is. you will have to split the gearbox open of course.

I like to overfill my gearbox to be on the safe side though.

thanks driftrex glad thats all cleared and thanks for the advice with the oil how much litres would you put in from empty cheers thanks again

Not sure exactly, just fill on dipstick then go another half a litre.

I think mine holds around 5litres at the moment, factory is 4litres, but u hav to fill the space the front diff used to occupy, then a bit more.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
