Temperature guage - water or oil?

Is the standard temperature gauge in the dash on the WRX's for oil or water temperature?

Stock temp gauge is water, oil will take longer to get up to temp too.

ive never seen a car with a factory oil temp gauge, owned a few turbo sigmas with factory boost gauges tho

Porsche 911 from year dot has always had oil temp and pressure gauges.

What year Sigma Turbos did you have ?

The old Sigma GSR was a rocketship in its day, nice smooth turbo engine, piss-poor handling and awful steering but a relaxing cruiser.

both were 1985 just before the facelift i think. know what ya mean about the handling it was terrible. quick car in their day tho

Same as the one I had.

Standard with typically useless Todd Motors build quality, bits of interior trim kept falling off.

Damn quick though.

dads 97 audi a4 1.8t has both water and oil temp dials

cousin has an aftermarket oil cooler and gauge, its quite surprising how long it takes to warm up.. not always safe to boost just because the water is up to temp!

I have seen mods that convert your water temp gauge to oil temp on your factory cluster. Unsure how you would but its been done. Prob simpler to put a/m oil temp gauge
