Got pulled over for it this morning lol. but no charge as it is just didgital gauges which most new car come equipped with :-)

Well toyota Highlander have them for in cabin temp control and Gtr34/gtr35 have them. so i would assume that because it appears factory in modern cars i dont think they will bother. Maybe I should put a Vtec sticker on the side and they will just pass it off as riced

if yu have a flash drive yup :-) but it has no software to. it is Mini xp so it doesnt even have solitaire :-(. i also make the start bar at the bottom auto hide so that it is just looks like there is only gauges

Planning a car-pc build sometime in the future, but you really need a 10'+ screen to get usability you can live with (if you have bigger aspirations than gauges etc) hence me not just rushing out and doing it when there are mods to come in the future.

You can still import dc to dc power supplys cheaply and some of the mini-itx stuff available now is awesome with built in wifi too so wireless tethering from my tablet to the car PC would be a piece of cake.

Picked up this wireless keyboard to use with the HTPC because full size mouse and k/b were getting annoying, awesome little k/b with mouse tracker for $80 so that will no doubt find its way into a car-pc build

Sounds Cool,

i used a thin client pc (12v ready) i installed mini xp on it, I used the 7" TouchScreen as its easy peasy and runs off usb so no need to run power and it was really cheap. the install was no mess or fuss just 2 usbs (screen,OBD2) and had to wire the 12v. this didnt use a dc to ac inverter so no extra weight/ strain on the alternator or extra space used. Overall im satisfied. no wires everywhere no risk of fire so im sorted :-)

Hmm, so I can do the same thing with my stock version 6 sti? i had thought it only worked with v7 and above and while the v5/6 had the obd2 connector it used something else. If not then thats aweosme, ill give it a go.

definatley works on 5/6 you just cant tune them but the vitals are just as important

So you just used one of those bluetooth odb2 scanners? i have a mate with one so might have to try it out.

Looking at doing it for track data logging in racechrono, plus ability to overlay on video for trackday wank vids

Umm never tried bluetooth but i guess it would be the same principle really. Also Never used racechrono just used Rom Raider as it s designed for subaru

Ah ok, i installed rom raider on my laptop so hopefully it works with the bluetooth scanner for testing.

This is awesome! What kind of case and power supply did you use for this? I'm tempted to go about building one and mount it under one of the seats and run it to a double din headunit/lcd screen.
