94 RA, with DCCD

Im buying a 1994 RA, has a DCCD, but its in the boot. Being a RA without the DCCD how hard is it to put in? Worth the trouble?

Plus i dont have the dash for the DCCD so is there a way to see where it is set?

what do you mean its in the boot?

I wired the dccd in to mine being non dccd (mike and ben did it mostly) - get an auto cluster and the led set, they are the same and you can wire it up if your clever. the holder and all is identical.

Its a reasonable job to complete - whether its worth it or not is up to you.

you can also just install it and it will run in open mode - which is how they should normally run - it might be a bit more 'taily' than you're used to.

Then take your time getting round to wiring it up OR .. get the dccd controller from PBMS for $450 and its a much simpler solution.

So you are saying, no matter what it was set to when it was last used it has a setting it will always use as a default? If that makes any sense? And taily you mean slightly more RWD than without it iin?

Sorry big night last night and trying to make my brain process small bits of info... What is this PBMS 1? i intend on 'trying' to do shit right in this rex. and not on the cheap. BUT we will see how long my wallet can keep up

its an after market dccd controller made by possum borne motor sport.

if you intend to run a g4 link then ive been told they can control dccd's also.

the box wont go back to its last setting ..... without a controller it will stay in open mode which has a bios of 40% drive to front and 60% drive to the rear, which is why funky mentioned taily.

easiest option is get the pbms controller or talk to kaminiko on this forum he was developing his own last time i heard

I would probably get a dccdpro controller rather than a Possum Bourne one. I've heard good things about them.

Yep. And you could even make your own controller as Nick is/ was doing if you are good with electricses and logicses. Or as mentioned, it has been successfully done with a Link I believe. There is a mechanical advantage of 35/65 with the older DCCD units, so you will just need to get used to the lighter end of the car (the rear) breaking traction more easily until you have some way to control the diff.

I have since brought the car... Turns out the speedo has the bit in it for a dccd... Still dont know if its an auto speedo or dccd 1
