v3 ecu

i have a v3 sti running a 6s ecu.

since these are not tuneable.

can i re wire in a v7 sti ecu? and if i can am i able to use all the standard sensors that i am running already with the v3.

would like to wire it in so i can then tune it. or reflash it.

any help and input much appreciated

Unlikely.

Probably possible-theoretically. Though you'd be better off getting a v7.

easier to swap if you have a v5/6 as iirc some of the sensors are the same. probably better off with aftermarket ecu to save the hidden costs, hassle and eliminate any chances of it not working at all once the swap is done.

Just buy a possumlink if youre not going ott on mods. I looked into this a while back ended up going G4 like everyone on here recommended. I started a topic on V7 ecu swap a while back not sure what its under run a search. You need to change loom plug or make an adaptor, change cam and crank wheels/sensors cant remember what else but getting those parts costs $.

Someones working on making it run early pickups but not here yet I think.

Less chance of failure on a drastic scale if you make an adaptor- you'll need the v7 car plugs and v3 ecu plugs. I know that kamineko made a bg-v3/4 adaptor that way. (With respective plugs obviously)

Less connections for win as with anything electronic also less expense...only good thing with an adaptor is you can revert to standard.

Pretty sure they use a different crank angle sensor wheel or something along those lines. Dunno if you could tune for that.

By the time you went through all the BS of getting it in and working you may as well have grabbed an older PossumLink or something similar.
