fitting xforce 3" down pipe to gc8

just brought a xforce downpipe today. just wondering how straight forward is it when fitting? is there anything i need to know or is it just a simple unbolt and put in new down pipe? also can all the bolts be undone from the top or would i need to raise the car to get to some?

Ull need to get under wea it joins to mid section. Usually straight forward as long as your bottom joins meet up sometimes aftermarket d pipes r rotated.

Do u have o2 hole as well

yea got 02 hole. thats my only concern. i heard if u get them in wrong position or not fitted properly, it can cause some problems like fuel economy or check engine?

WD-40 and 6 point sockets are always an advantage on stubborn exhaust bolts. Xforce is a straight swap, not like Rage etc that have a rotated flange.

Is it just the 3" ones then? I remember there being a thread about it years ago.

3 inch has a bigger flange than factory so it\'ll never be a straight bolt on

I had a 3" rage a few years back, and the flange was the same size but rotated... and it was also a flat flange I think, no doughnut.

I was pretty pissed of about it and complained... hopefully a lot of people complained and they changed it. No good reason to put

a different flange on.

The 3" flange bolts straight to stock cat back but yea flat flange versus stock donut style. I just used a normal 3" gasket not a steel one and it worked till I swapped on a flange style catback.

You need ramps as a minimum... if you\'re skinny you\'ll be okay.... better to put the front up on stands though.

Yes Ive done it mainly with a twisted downpipe but a couple of times with stock fitment. Dont need the car too high just jack it up and slide under.

I put mine on all four axle stands easy to get in out and safety

Trickiest for me was undoing the turbo bolts. They can seize up real goood. I fitted a rage 2.5" and straight bolt up, and just used a steel hose clamp to hold the cat sensor onto the outside of the exhaust.

You will need a lift. If your car is old it\'s not a "straight swap" (e.g 150kms + on stock exhaust). You\'ll need a dam good socket set with multiple ratchets sizes (to fit in awkward places). It\'s pretty simple to do but is prone to being a problematic repair process. On my old subaru I had to take the down pipe/turbo/uppipe out in one piece as well as the intercooler and air intake, that\'s probably a worst case scenario though.

i will probably just get that hijacka guy in christchurch to help with do it as i dont have tools and cant get under the car. only cost $50

Just use A LOT of WD-40 for those turbo bolts, Previous guy rounded the s**t out of the bolts when I fitted my down pipe, ended up heating them up with gas and use vice grips to pull them out, pain in the arse.
