Going Front Mount.

I know its been talked about a lot and I\'m not here to add my 5 cents to say if its good or not. I brought me front mount intercooler for my little weekend project, My car is a 1994 WRX and i have got hold of a V3 piping kit. What would I need to look out for in advance?. Cheers

Before you chop anything pull the bumper off and test fit the piping 50/50 chance it wont work without modifiying the pipes.

Ive seen someone pull off a guard I think the right hand side to modify the area by the air filter. But I could be wrong.

yes sometimes that gets ovalled out a bit to fit the pipe bend through the hole.

if its a road going car, (lucky you are pre airbags but still applies) just cut as little as possible, prefer to modify the piping to make it work. you dont want to fail cert or wofs etc.

Just follow your nose otherwise - remember to work out what your doing for a BOV and connector to the piping - could end up with a last minute trip to a welder haha.

and if it wasnt clear.. aim NOT to cut anything. - (the bumper bar will def need altering though)

I just drilled holes in mine and I did need to cut where the snorkelectomy shit goes through also.

if you take the drivers gaurd off you can get usually away with not opening up the snorkelectomy hole..

or you do a me and make a fucking whopper of a hole and plead ignorance and have a nice wof guy. (NOT recommended)

i bought a redline frount mount kit ...fitted straight into my v4sti coupe with no modifyig anything at all. just took out the spotys and had to obviously trim the bumper

Cheers Guys cant wait to get stuck into it.. Wish I could just take the week off and just do it tomorrow but oh well lol. yeah it has a bov hose adapter I just don\'t like where Its located lol. also whats best to use to trim bumper? I have a angle grinder( small one ) I just don\'t want it to look uneven.

i put tape on the bumper and drew a line where it needed to be trimmed 2 to get it nice and even i used a 6inch(or round abouts angle grinder

doing it with an angle grinder is fine - be prepared to be sprayed with hot plastic but it doesnt hurt to much.

just keep a steady hand and do a little bit by little bit until its right. if you cut to far on the first go you wont be able to take it back haha.

just accept it takes many many test fittings of bumper on and off to get it right.

All done and dusted:) I actually started yesterday but happy with end results, kinda want to get a c west front bumper now lol. I\'ll put a photo up of it on here .

Was when it was nearly finished just put on grill properly and bolt up other side of bumper.

I don\'t like it but it doesn\'t bother me i have a C west kit at home waiting to go on. Plus that lower part was scratched up pretty bad from someone muffler backing into it.
