Do I need a soopercooler?

Have to say that this guy has done a great job!

Achieving lower than ambient utilising the latent heat of vapourization theory too!

Carrying around 5 gallons of water though.(22.72 litres !!)

Mine has around 5 litres, Incorperating a water only spray it only gets down to 8 deg above ambient.(22psi sudden demand over 10 seconds)

If i mix meth with it (The spray) ...despite the vapour fire risk it would also be lower...How much?...Not prepared to try that!

Cost? $1,200 US...Makes mine a lot cheaper and almost as effective.....That would be another way of saying

"The soopercooler is vaue for money at less than half the price!"....Would it not?

I think even that guy says you wouldnt need that much water as long as the heat exchanger is big enough

Ive use a WTA heat exchanger and hooked the A/C up to it. So you using the A/C to cool your water down.

I did it on a REB30DET. The problem(more so in winter) we had is that It was cooling the air down too much and we started to get condensate in the Inlet Manifold.

i call bs at original post . how can the temp be lower than ambient ? no matter how much 30 degree air you blow over something 50 degrees its temp cant go below 30 can it ?

"wind chill" factor could drop it lower than a stand still ambient possibly????

You can if you use the evaporation of water or meth in the mix

Best way to visualise it - hot day, get out of the (warm) pool, shiver for a minute / soon as you\'re dry you\'re warm again.

As it evaporates, it cools the surface it\'s on. That\'s why you sweat.

yeah i know bout the evap but he isnt evaportaing anything .?

and hes not going to carry 5 gallons of water for the cooler and a another bucket load to spray on it . or did i not read it properly

even jetboats with unlimited river water cooled intercoolers struggle to get below ambient temp the falling efficiency of temp exchange

dunno . i am pretty tired from newyears mission . and i do think my HDI core was below ambient temp some days

fk me the thread is 35 pages long . anyone read it ?

without reading the thread my bet is he has the temp sensor just after were the meth sprays .....hence the below ambient reading.

methanol\'s not flammable at a 50/50 volume mix so no danger there , dont mix it at 50/50 weight mix tho as it is flammable :D we luckily tested that

it does look good thats for sure! just a shame the outlet for the exchanger isnt on the opposite side like a standard top mount, those 90 deg would restrict a little.

The meth spray (aquamist) nozzle is in the intercooler outlet....Now having read it correctly...

Similar results are achieved when its raining according to one of his other posts.

A light fog also reduces his IAT temps.

I have noticed a huge difference in my own setup using a spray on the front radiator too...Only sprays when 10 psi boost is achieved.

WAIC.....Only way to cool !

i get ambient or very close to temps with front mount and water meth inj . will have to do some logs on up comming dyno day and on the way to or from and post results .

a water meth kit is no doubt cheeper then a waic setup and cheep to run at 85c a litre.

Correct injection system cost?...$US400...Plus FMIC cost Plus consumable meth...Equals? WAIC cheaper!

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
