Subframe lock bolts

Recommended Posts

Anyone used these and actually noticed a difference? Guessing people put them in when they put in swaybars etc so they wouldnt really know. About 40nzd on ebay so cheap little upgrade. Or can you just remove the rubber bushes in the subframe mounting bolts and hard mount the whole thing? Havent had a good look couldve last weekend but was too busy swearing at the axle that wasnt quite coming out.

I used them on my car, no difference at all but both of my rear subframes were hard mounted. but they did pull the subframe very straight. perfectly even rear alignment on a factory setup.

Much easier using them rather than swapping subframes

had a set in the forester. only noticed them at full boost in 3rd foot hard up it around a really tight corner in the parapara highway. drove up, chucked them in drove back. not quite as much movement in the arse. BUT normal driving, day to day stuff, it\'ll only make the alignment in the back end sit true. may have been placebo effect after putting them in, i don\'t know.

awesome for alignment though, do 50,000 km and it was still exactaly as it was set

You may not notice the difference with just that, but they have to be worthwhile... the amount of slop the diff carrier can have without them is

obvious when you see that it\'s probably not even centered... and your rear suspension is tied to the diff carrier... so you are getting a lot of

dynamic wheel alignment changes without them. I put them in my old STi and had the front of rear diff lock kit as well...

no more banging rear diff with aggressive changes after those two kits...good stuff IMO.
