heavy duty clutch or a 6 puck for a possible single turbo b4?

blew my clutch the other night and am now rather stuck on choosing a new one, there is a high chance of converting it to single turbo when I take the engine out to do it, i have found a heavy duty clutch and a 6 puck clutch on trade me.. I would be doing a few launches here and there when I take it to the drags and wouldn\'t want want to be breaking it again in the short term so what is the best bet? thanks

i might have a brand new 5speed clutch for sale thats HD and have 3400 ft/lb clamp!

this would feel like a factory standard one but still take any abuse you throw at it/your gearbox would break before the clutch!

what prices are we looking at b42000?? a run of the mill hd exceedy clutch though work is still over 700 which is abit step, there are d1racing 6 pucks on tm for $599 which seems like a way better deal and i\'m sure they are better than a hd being 6puck??

Bear in mind that a puck clutch is going to drive like a sack of shit on the street and even if you single-turb it you\'re probably never going to see more than about 220wkw which is well within the realms of a decent full-face clutch.

But if you want to be cool on the internet and tell people you have a puck, get one.

it was ordered for a car running ~300kw / rated at over 500NM. So yep to what the man/boon said would be more than enough!

You are getting fuckin smoked if thats what youre paying for an exedy h/d through work. If youre still at supercheap then its through asl correct? Should be low $500 at worst.

H/D clutch is all you need. A few people get the STi HD clutch kit.

If you go Puck/Solid center/etc etc you just transfer to the next weakest link in your Drivetrain, The Gearbox.

I went STi h/d genuine Cost $360 incl for the pressure and clutch plate. Got a non gen bearing approx $50 incl. Winning as sti are uprated 20-30% or something from what they originally were anyway. Look at it this way genuine clutches get raped all the time and last over 100thou easy in most cases. Obviously slipping is going to fuck it.

duno what hook ups u guys got lol but just the STI 230mm clutch cover costs me over gud bit over 300 inclusive thru winger with discount. 225mm stuff is cheep as genuine but not the 230mm stuff well the covers anyway :-\

Few years dealing with every tom dick and harry you learn the odd thing.

Marc check the invoice in my build thread sure mine 230mm sti was cheaper than that.
