Green, ive purchased a couple second hand ones and each one seems to have its own little fault.

just trying to convince my self to spend the $600 lol.

even a after market one from road and track is $400 ( any one tried theres? ) comes with a 12 month warranty

yer FOOK brand new for that cost..

posters above are good and every reason to trust they say its in good working condition if offering to you for cheaps..

If you are continually getting issues there might some something up with your car / loom. you run a POD by chance?...

No pod filter,

the issue m having is rough idle, every few seconds sounds like its missing.

and also when i get into boost. sometimes it comes in and out of power. boost gauge doesnt fluctuate or anything, neither do the rpms. just feels like its not injecting the right amount of fuel at times.

the cars still driveable just rather anoying.

also, are gc8 wrx\'s meant to sound quite rough/loud during the rev range? just seems to have quite a un healthy engine noise.

Cheers

I\'d be swapping over a know good 2nd hand air-flow meter (maybe another members if they close by, as it may not even be the issue and stuff paying that much on a hope.

Could be a number of things really, have you tried getting fault codes?

You can often make dodgy AFM\'s good again by simply opening up the plastic cover, de-soldering the copper sheild to get it out of the way, re-soldering all the big connections that you can see and then putting the copper sheild back on and siliconing the plastic cover back onto it.

They usually die due to broken solder joints and its really, really simple to fix. Have done that on both my Subaru\'s when the afm gave me issues and never had another problem with the afm after that.

yeah ive tried o2 sensor as well. funny thing was a while ago when i changed my air flow meter to a second hand one. it fixed the idling problem for about 2 weeks. but wouldnt boost at all for the first couple days.

its been a nightmare lol.

Does yours do it every day? or only some days?

everyday just when your driving at a constant speed it feels like your driving into wind just a mean surge going on.

That definitely sounds like the 02 sensor. Could it be a dodgy/corroded connection somewhere rather than the sensor itself?

What about vacuum leaks? I dunno if that could cause the same surging.

thanks Koom i\'ll have a look but i have bugger all room to work with, but will be taking it to wingers so they can put it on there computer to see if it brings up anything.

its like the afm situation there $336 new or $180 2nd hand and its a killer when your on a solo income at the mo.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
