Costs roughly 1g and can only be tuned by them again at the same cost iirc. Dont think it gives it the ability to run a map based tune either.

Because to reflash a v5/6 you need a specialised cable and the correct "ecutek" software, which is f**king expensive.

As mentioned, ffs in wellington or the ecutek shop in napier.

Or, you could convert it to a v7 loom and ecu (most of the sensors are the same) and be able to reflash it yourself

I would imagine not, however there is a place that can reflash the v3/4 ecu at a cost... cant remeber who, but they did make a post on here somewhere

I looked into it before,but its such a hassle having to send it there and have the car off the road,but havnt found any one in nz that can do v3

NZEFI in Chch adds a daughter board to V3-V4 ECUs which makes thing 100% tuneable.

Dont they use ecutek as well? NZEFI are looking into V5/6 well were depending how the V3/4 venture went.

Sending the ecu to get it tuned in UK is about as great an idea as getting a chipped ecu from africa. UK conditions are a far cry from NZ for a start along with every car being different as well.

You can reflash v3-4 the only reason people dont is due to the fact the ecu is not stable and brick 80% of the time. Ecutek is the only software on the market that is available to reflash v5-6 and to purchase licences you need to be regonised by Ecutek as a master tuner and set up cost is sky high I know as i purchased it with licences. If you find a jecs ecu for a v3-4 ecu we can supply prodrive eproms which is a mere to tune as you can only live tune to a certain point and the rest is via logs and then removing reflashing eprom and the cycle starts again till customer is happy.

wrc developements in napier do the ver5/6 ecu. near $1000 but they use a dyno etc aswell, mechanics are from the uk and had something to do with the WRC over there
