Disabling ABS

Want to know how to disable the ABS for track use and for gymkhanas but google isn\'t giving me a straight up answer as to what fuse or fuses need to be pulled. Can anyone give me a heads up so I can go and do some J turns?

Car is a 1997 Legacy GTB

Cheers

Just pull the relay from the ABS unit in the engine bay. I used to do it for events as have others.

How different is it as opposed to with?

Pretty different, with ABS I tended to over brake... i.e brake too late and too hard then lose all momentum.

Brake pads would disappear pretty quick as a result. With ABS the pedal would go solid round fast corners

when the wheels were slipping... I guess it was trying to prevent more of a slide, but I didn\'t like it.

I didn\'t know which relay under the hood was the ABS one so I just whipped the two ABS fuses out from the fuse box under the dash. One of them took out the power steering as well so put that back in and all sorted. lol

Does the warning light stay on?

I get the abs light glaring 30 seconds after a skid and stays on till I turn the car off then on and drive 100m or so

Im sure you know how to wire the CEL to the ABS by now to make it completely legit for WOF purposes.
