Engine Installation!!

Hey Guys,

Ive finally got my engine back and am hoping to drop it in this weekend, weather permitting. ;D

Is there anything i should be weary of when putting it back in????

As long as your clutch plate\'s nice and centred. Assuming you removed it in the first place and it\'s not your first engine swap?

yeah clutch plate is out and yeah it is my first engine swap

Do you have help? Or engine leveller and lots of patients if not?

Torque wrench + settings?

New clutch (better to do it now)

Clutch centring tool?

New spigot bearing/thrust bearing etc?

Jack the front of the gearbox up or you\'ll have an anus of a time getting the dowels in.

something that caught me out the other day, the dust plate under the flywheel became jammed between the engine and gearbox...

good practice: clean and lube the fork and release bearing mechanism

if everything is looking good but it just wont slide onto the gearbox, try rotating the gearbox shaft, or crank pulley. the splines need to engage and it sometimes it just doesn\'t play nicely. having the clutch aligned first is also important for this (so the friction plate is lined up to the spigot bearing in the flywheel)

This sucks s***. One of the times I put engine I did this and ended up getting the 2 bolts undone and pulling it out the bottom in place. Massive mission.

Just remember the clutch fork pin it seems to catch out a lot of people.

dont have to worry about it when its goin in is when your splitting them the pin needs out because the clutch has a 1 way spring clip once its engaged its a c*#t to get out again in place,

mate engine to box first then slide the mounts down and in fairly simple just teadius work dont expect it to take 20 min haha

So i got the motor in sweet as, had a little trouble centring the clutch plate but managed to rig up my own centring tool. now im trying to sort the clutch out. the pedal has two settings, up or down. its sort of spring loaded and jumps from one extreme to the other with out any movement of the pin that pushes the clutch fork :-\ :-\

and yes i have tried bleeding it but with no luck. any ideas or sugggestions??????? ??? ???

Everything is back together and the motor starts but is only firing on three cylinders :-\ :-\

Are all the injector plugs are good and tight, maybe pull them and clean the elec contacts?
