Yeah im new to this site, i recently purchased a shitty bov from repco, just to hear that whistle as the stock bypass valve aint doing the job to good. I just need a few steps as in like how to block the recirc tube and s*** i had previously read this

http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php?topic=37927.0

Im not to fussed about problems with bovs i just want one.

Also which tube is the recirc tube? the one with the arrow pointing at it? cheers.

Definitely block it. I had a metal bung with my old BoV but I\'ve since biffed it.

I\'m sure gaffa tape will be fine until you get something proper to jam in there.

would like a wine cork be all good?

No. Don\'t risk it.

Measure the INTERNAL diameter then give Redline performance a call (they sell the bungs) tell them what size and they will sort you out.

I just got one from them last week and it great (good quality and solid!)

My v4 sti used a 32mm plug for the recirc hose. Yours looks smaller

I wouldn\'t use tape either - that\'s whory and if a little piece comes of and gets into your turbo............

shove a wine cork in it . end of story .

its pretty much the least important thing youll ever need to block on a car

If you going to use a cork... maybe use one from a bottle of bubbles so its got a big lip on it... wouldn\'t use a plain straight one

Ummm by the looks of things you just have the hose jammed in the bottom of the BoV... as soon as you get some boost up it that sucker will pop right off and your car will run like a massive pile of s***.

thats where it runs from, and i\'ve been using it all night works algood.

cheers for the help guys, i just bought a bung from mitre10. but my revs drop when i idle and stall the car sometimes, but eh.

thats prob because theres a boost leak. the hose that goes to the bov, is it even sealed ? if not boon is right and it will get worse

+1 Your BOV connection is leaking under vac causing your idle drop/stall. Also leaking enough under boost that there isn\'t enough pressure to pop your BOV off.

Edit: Is the open manifold vac port (bottom of top pic) your BOV vac hose connection? Or is that still open?

I basically get the impression that he doesn\'t care if the car runs like a bag of s*** as long as it goes PISHHHHHH.

Meanwhile the poor turbo works it\'s guts out trying to keep boost at 15psi with the massive boost leak, while the ECU over fuels like crazy due to loss of metered air...... ::)

Whats a good way to seal it? it popped off. and its connected to the bov.

The (looks like 20mm dia) OEM hose will never stretch over that (looks like 30mm) BOV. You will either need an adapter=

Outlet>20mm hose>20-30mm adapter>30mm hose>BOV.

Or cut a 25mm length of your OEM hose and fit it onto the Outlet as a spacer, now your outlet and BOV are both 30mm. So just a new 30mm hose between them, over spacer (clamped) and over BOV (clamped).

i went and bought like a water hose for an ae95 and fitted it around my bov piece and then i placed the original tube into the bov piece and into the water hose, then i clamped both ends so its tight and what not, but it still makes the revs go 0-1000 and stall.

Reading that again sounds like you still have just one hose stuck inside another hose? If you yank on the BOV does it come off?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
