Oh about $30 got me to Tauranga, i must be doing 9L/100km isnt exact science. The margin of error would be huge.

Taking 52.6 liters to refill the tank after doing 490km is the sort of math you need to be doing to be able to claim a fuel economy figure.

Yep, that ^

Fill tank, reset trip meter, next fill up you have actual use over time. The gauge is far from accurate

Thing is the best and worst figures can vary massively on the same car just with drive type and style, some cars will literally double the mileage on a long trip vs round town driving

Ditto for if the driver has to bring it on boost every gearshift or just drives like a normal person haha

Im doing 650km per week so making an effort to see what can improve and reduce my usage, even eking another 50k per tank is free $$ for me

Yeah agree, always monitoring consumption ie reset trip metre each time refuel up / calculate etc , do an average of 300km + per week

Recently did a trip to Napier Hastings. On the drive back to Auckland I got 9.3 L/100km with 5 occupants and everyone\'s luggage. Dash computer read 10.9 km/L which is 9.17 l/100km. This is probably a bit more accurate than comparisons I\'ve done with driving made up mostly of around town driving. And every time the dash meter is overly optimistic.

Okay let\'s see. Fill up $60 from empty. As in light on and below E so assuming its very nearly empty. Fuel rate was $2.319 at the time. That\'s 25.873L. Reset trip meter and completed 350 kms. 25.873L/350 = 0.0739L per km. 100 x 0.0739 = 7.39L per 100km. Okay I may have been 0.3L off. Just though that was the number I calculated. Is this calc incorrect?

Yes because you\'re an idiot. There is no solid way of knowing how much fuel was left in the bottom of your tank at the beginning of the trip or at the end. Compared to the rather accurate measure of knowing the tank is full before and after because more fuel wont fit in it.

Over 25L the possible 2-6L variation in whats left in the tank creates a large margin of error. I have driven 110km with the empty light on.

Just came back from a decent South Island roadie so got some figures.

Car: 1997 GTB manual with standard V5 STi engine.

Christchurch to Queenstown via Lake Ben Moore - 511km, 47l to fill = 9.2l per 100km

Queenstown to Te Anau - 169.5km, 14.93l to fill = 8.8l per 100km

Te Anau to Milford Return (steep and windy roads) - 241km, 24.43l to fill = 10.1l per 100km

Te Anau to Queenstown then to Wanaka via Crown Range (with a heavy foot) and then to Cromwell - 318km, 34.65l = 10.9l per 100km

Around town - 158km, 18.85l = 11.9l per 100km

Pretty stoked with those figures!

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
