hi 98 type r coupe

once i lowered the car the wheels rubbed through the airbag wires and brought the airbag light on which is ok.

so i got a aftermarket steering wheel and cut the wiring loom off the airbag ( with the battery disconnected.and also pulles the bulb out of the dashboard.

now the car has zero power only the head deck clock and door open light come on nothing else on the car works.

spliced the wires for airbag back together disnt work.

checked all the fuses inside cab and engine bay 3times

replaced the bulb

nothing makes sense can someone help me

Have you tried disconnecting the airbag control unit that will sit along the trans tunnel under the head unit? That may have a kind of immobilisor and then there is the other: when you cut the wires; arr you sure you didn't cut some vital stuff? It may have been other loom

?

Also; Pictures of what you cut and where, just in case it wasn't what you thought it was.

it was definitely only the airbag it was the two yellow wires coming.out of the yellow sleeved loom is the airbag unit under the dash part or center console lift up bit?

whoa that's a whole lot of fluff-ups right there

ABS wires maybe got worn thru by your tires

could have just unplugged your airbag and replaced steering wheel (one must assume this car is never going to get a wof ever agani anyway)

did you have dash out/plugged the ignition/key back together correctly?

it'll be bolted down on the trans tunnel directly behind the cigarette lighter and ash tray bits; behind the dash. why cut wires when unplugging is so very easy?

someone had glued the plug together cheers will go unplug it now. also do u think it wud have any effect on the alarm?

yea tis a bit aye cudnt unplug the airbag as someone had glue the plug together.

so thats why the wire was cut .

and i undone the gauge cluster only to take the bulb out .

didnt touch any of the ignition

possibly; depending on how the alarm was wired. Don't know why an airbag would be wired into the alarm though; seems like an awful way to keep someone out, *tries stealing car; gets knocked out by drivers airbag*

battery connected properly? you plugged everything behind the dash cluster in properly?

Just give everything another look over, or two: just to make sure you've covered all your bases.

definitely everything i did we re connected and ive been over the dash again justtries unplugging the airbag computor and did nothing either

How many volts is the battery showing?

Run a resistor for the yellow plug that runs to the airbag.. i think it needs 3.3ohm resistor? and try clearing the airbag computer ..link below is v7 but same thing

does starter get power?

cutting the

SRS wires should not do this [you already know this/duh]

might be time to find the back of the ignition (remove cowling) and see if the back of that is getting power

no worries mate .

ive tested back of ignition and that gets power.as does some of the dashboard.i dont get power at tge exciter wire on the starter .which makes me think maybe the ecu has.gone into shutdown or safe mode? or maybe the alarm ? when i go from on to start with the key the alarm is clicking..

what kind of alarm isit? and do you know who installed it, or when/where?

I would still say a fuse, how did you check them?

i removed allfuses inspected visually and checked reaisitance across them.alarm is uniden unknown installer

Where/which wires were damaged exactly?

yea there no SRS wires near your wheels afaik

um there is yellow sleeved wires running through the inner guard. that were rubbed through

Front left inner guard? Doesn't the main loom from the battery to the ECU etc run through there?

reconnecting those wires might help
