Now and then driving along would lose power to dash headlights and power light, steering light would show for few seconds the go back to normal did this while parked too.

Would water,dampness to cpu cause faults like this on and off only really started after window leak on left side where cpu is.

The ECUs are damn near sealed and underneath quite a lot of plates and carpet and other stuff. Unless you had like a pool of water in the passenger footwell the ECU is not the problem.

So I reinstall replacement alternator no issues from drive yesterday but come to work turned a corner and cut out again any other ideas. Was told knock sensor how east to locate and with out removing other parts.

When you say cut out, is the engine completely stalling, then all the dash lights come on? Does it start back up normally after dying?

Or is it just having a little hiccup then carrying on?

It sounds almost (almost) like it's just stalling - do you find it struggles only when coming to a stop or with no accelerator pedal (such as rounding a corner off the gas) - then it restarts itself sort of?

I wonder if you're chasing a fault unrelated to the real problem - does it have a blow off valve and how does it idle - like is it smooth or does it hunt a little?

Off acceleration and on acceleration it happens factory bov idles different rpm under 800rpm not smooth idle can fell it at idle near new afm

Coils will be FK0140.

How did you check for vacuum leaks?

Have you ever cleaned out the idle air control valve?

Can you please give us a wee bit more info, this is like pulling teeth

Does the car cut out just completely at random, like driving along steady at 100k will it cut, or is it only when you're off the pedal, or on the pedal, or full tank no gas etc - there has to be something to try and nail when and why it's doing this

I doubt it's water in the ECU, that would likely lead to a more consistent fault and you'd be able to see the evidence of it visually when looking at it

You say it's from a water leak - how did that come about? If it's from a windscreen replacement they generally have a warranty for life on them, I'd chase that path down too

happens at any speed randomly cuts for 2 secs then carry s on running, lose headlights, power sterring also the steering and power light come on i hear relays under dash click when this happens,

window is a after-market one previous ppl didn't clean it properly so over time it rusted then leaked.

happens when penal down and not can happen when parked 1/4-1/2 tank gas

i thought it may of been water near ecu but not sure

Now have different issues jigging about, lose power still moving but going not fast revs dropping low when stopped. Funny noises in engine bay when doing this any other ideas.

It could be a number of things, I am thinking your best bet is getting it to an auto sparky for a second opinion before something really fcks out. There is no fault codes correct?

found the alarm to be playing up armed last night went to move car no disarm led in car no flash open door no siren, started car soon as i closed door car dies done twice heard chirp from siren tried to start took ages to start run rough, turned off led for alarm flashing disarmed and started car.

maybe alarm is cutting ignition or fuel

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
