22B replica? has anyone seen or attempted?

Recommended Posts

you can still import them tho? but there the same price as buying one in nz but most are after market and no where near original and like said above can only be used for your track car until the 20yr mark which is only 8yrs away.

time to save lol ;D

personally i'd want one of the five in nz but i'm only 28 so can't afford yet as the mortgage needs paying. :'(

yes you import i have seen 2-3 for sale in japan for NZ$46k then you have compliance, freight, import duty etc... still looking at $50k+ better to buy the one in Christchurch and its also road legal.

i have to say in another 8years the price would be alot more than what they are now as 22b are becoming more rare. In the UK 22B prices are starting to move upwards for excellent examples.

i have 3 friends overseas that have 22Bs and they are kept as collectible investments.

There is a 22B in NZ that has done less than 10k and i have seen 1 for sale ex japan that has only delivery ks. Did you know the sultan even has one.

I was at Armstrong Subaru in CC last week and they have a 22B in there showroom that was sold to a friend off mine in the US and that's mint.

I was told by the Subaru dealer in CC that the one on trademe is a bit scruffy.

Yeah, Turtle is dead right. The 22B meets pretty much every single criteria as a collectible import. You would have no trouble whatsoever bringing one in and getting compliance. Just fill in the forms - Special Interest Vehicles.

* the vehicle (or its make, model and submodel) is identified as being a collector's item in one of the following magazines or their respective websites – Australian classic car, Car and driver (US), Automobile (US), Motor (Australia), Motor trend (US), New Zealand autocar, New Zealand classic car, Road and track (US), Top gear (UK), Top gear NZ, Unique cars (Australia) or Wheels (Australia)

* the vehicle's make and model has been (or was) manufactured in annual volumes of 20,000 units or less

* the vehicle is, and was manufactured as, a two-door coupe or a convertible

* the vehicle is, and was manufactured as, a high-performance vehicle.

ive talked to him and he doesnt actually want to sell it, its his wife thats making him sell it. He wont take any less than asking price.

REMEMBER a car is only worth what a buyer and seller agree upon. i doubt a 22B will ever be owned by a young person as most 22b owners are 40+ and usually money is no object. A YOUNG PERSON WILL NEVER BE INSURED WITH A 22B.

My comment still stands, i bet he hasnt had an offer over 30k. As you say its what a buyer is willing to pay.

I understand the wife thing though, its quite a bit of cash to have sitting in a toy that is barely used.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
