no i think you will find they dont have ABS where the car had DCCD.. they couldnt get both to play nicely together..

so your right Nt_A_Foz but not for the right reason :) Any car with DCCD didnt get ABS

My V3 GF8 has ABS, and i know the V2 sedans did at a minimum..

EDIT::: I think they cured this problem from Version 8.. (maybe 7)

I have done some research and even compared a gravel express to my gravel express, and 1 had ABS and my one doesn't, it seems subaru are one of the most changing cars... Some of them are the same others are different, dont take my word for it (i dont want an arguement)

But from what ive seen if your subaru doesnt have an abs light i take it that it wont have abs...... if you want to find out though slam the brakes on real hard and feel the pedal pulsing :)

My 1990 Legacy GX 2.2 didn't have ABS but the GT model of the 2.2L oes.

Wat is the point in abs anyhow? Both my mrs wrx and my rs have it yet my bf5 doesnt and it hauls to a stop way quicker despite most likely weighing a lot more. Its a system for people who think standing on the brakes is how you stop in a hurry, despite taking longer to stop? Go figure..

My (96) V3 GF8 STI has ABS and so did my old (92) BF GT Legacy I guess it was a factory option in the early WRXs and I guess it was standard with all STI Wagons/Hatches without the DCCD unless there has been an STI Wagon/Hatch made from the factory with DCCD and Ive never seen or heard of one?!

errr.... come on a wet road on a corner, then stomp on brakes.

intersting things happen, abs stops interesting things from happening

Up until a certain year, abs was a tick box on the sheet.

ABS/DCCD - becuase the early (pre v7) dccd cntrol was manual, it ment that it played havock with the locked diff, so it wasnt offered. Come v7, they put smarts in and got around that issue

If you like to just stomp on the anchors and drive a bit ham fisted like me - ABS wins.

If youve got a bit more finesse or drive in slick conditions (ice/mud/snow/gravel) then non-ABS will stop better

Not a big fan of ABS, apart from the obligatory stomp to see if it works when I brought the car I have only used it once.

To be fair though it probably saved some silly kid from a nasty incident that day, he ran clean out in front of me didnt even look, no time to think just stomped on it, probably would have slid into him if not for ABS.

I prefer ABS as a good back up

I drive ABS equipped vehicles on snow and ice all the time, and have never had an issue with it not stopping the vehicle OR being able to control the vehicle when necassary because my wheels are still rolling and not locked up.....

Even though I DO know how to cadence brake(20 years on the ohakune mountain road will teach you that) I do like having ABS as a back up device(just like AWD and VSC) they are all very good ideas as a back up to good driving ability.....

I would say that it is your driving style ... :)

The subaru ABS programming seems to be a wee bit better than some that I have driven in that it does allow a "ramp" of material to form before activating. :)

Each to their own but I have been driving on mountain access roads in a PROFESSIONAL capacity for 20 years so I do believe that I have the right to make comment

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
