Cant beat paint mate. Personally i prefer mild steel, it doesnt look as flash but i dont hear stories of mild steel cracking

i pulled that vacume hose thing off the internal wastegate now every gears sits at 13-14 psi!!

weird huh so should i just leave it off?

ermm does that mean its free boosting?

and only to 13-14psi sounds low. fooked turbo maybe?

its not hitting boost cut or anything? could be that your boost gauge is reading way to low?

nah boost gauge is correct ive tried 2 types.. it seems to be boosting algood. yeah free boost on 13-14 psi? weird huh

armstrong subaru did the rebuild i met a suby wrecker lastnight said few of his clients that had rebuilds from them also had boost problems FUJNNy enough they had blocked up pipes and stuff to reduce boost to save their rebuild warranties!!!!!!!

so you have nothing hooked up to the internal gate now?

your boost problem maybe caused my the factory (provided that's what you use) controller, it may have been hooked up wrong, leak or set via the ECU to run a certain pressure

but holding steady in each gear doesn't sound like free boosting, normally it will keep boosting till it hit a cut of some sort

Yea well if the waste gate hose is off its free boosting, but its if not cutting then yeh id check out the turbo/up & down pipes/BOV leaks/boost leaks

i could check those too i guess!! kinda happy its at the PSI expected but still want to find the underlying reason!!

if they have blocked the uppipe etc even at that psi its still blocked and will be under powered i think?

yea its sti... well i have all receipts for rebuild... that was done about 20thou kms ago.

if u boosting to 13-14 all the way and no spikes and u have no hose in the wastegate then its not normal bro..

with no hose in the wg as the revs rise u should see more and more boose like 19+ and then it should cut out..

if u only reaching 14 then its defenatly getting strangled.. check all the exhaust etc for blocks..

as for downpipe, teh bell mouthe brings boost faster as its got the highest outlet flow.. they have the wg seperator and its recesses up to the wy hole (needs accurate design) and that is the best of both worlds as allows top rpm flow once wg is open..

the simese flows well once the wg is open but a good open bellmouth collector with recessed wg split is best

sweet bro funny enough on the weekdn i had aboost cut on the motory way in 3rd gear? lol

so i but the hose back on for now just incase!! ill get somne one to check it out

that means that the turbo is working sweet, could be a bung boost controller solenoid.

see if a tap will get any difference in the boost level

yeah it might be aye coz the CELcode was 44 wich is boost control output or suming i went to change it but the syatem was different to the 1 i had in my car

do u have access to someones boost control solenoid which u can swap as a test
