Hey guys!!

i just got me a new v5 sti wagon!! .. cars algood box & clutch are tight!!

runs a vf28 when i put the pedal to the metal it just isnt pulling the way a sti should like from 3 - 6 thousand revs feels like its taking ages to get their just missing the OOMPH!! like its struggling?..but not hard to explain!! haha

im in Wellington and keen to take someone in the know for a lil blat in it to see what they think

- i considered new turbo?.. or a 2.5 down pipe that might givwe me that lil extra pull i know its capable of. but who knows!!

so who's keen for a blat lol!! im in the CBD area!!

some thoughts:

what boost are u running - put a proper meter on it to begin with.

also, what fuel?

any mods to the car?

reset the ecu and try again (on a cold nite) and see if feels any better

do a oil service and make sure there are no holes/leaks in the intake etc.

also, go to your local club dyno day - usually 80 buks and see what the car does and the AF ratio etc..

e.g. a makes RS was running slow and on the last dyno day it was showing really lean - turns out, someone had put a podin the intake but had a hole in the intake rubber behind the AFM - anyway, after plugging it and ecu reset, the car immediatly pulled almost 15-20 more kw ...

point is, it shouldnt feel slow and the vf28 is not laggy as others so should be more crisp etc..

a 25inch downpipe will do lots of difference.. i wud hazzarrd a guess at say 15kw or so difference

could be many a thing have you got any codes on the computer ???

3-6 is when the turbo should be boosting so have you got a gauge to see how much your boosting.

Also my car ran sluggish when there was a slight leak on my bov as i had gc8 bov on a GDA tmic and they don't fit.

so i went for a drive in it today with him, it feels like its only running about 6-8psi.. its just not pulling.

So i would either guess its in limp mode - and ecu needs reset (why did it go limp to start with).. i dunno

Or its only running wastegate pressure for some reason - i didnt check the plumbing as i thought of it after i left.

I suggested

1) reset the ecu

2) get a boost gauge to tell what psi hes running

3) oh yer.. haha the FMIC piping.. its solid steal piping.. like heavy as **** stuff, and it has this massive sharp bend off the turbo wrapping back towards the intake - it cant be good for it. Would the sharp bend or the solid steal piping make and difference? it was 2.5" in diameter at a guess.

By the sounds of it time to check the basic's

Codes ?

Turbo wastegate setting and plumbing

engine condition ? inc worn crank keyway :)

Easiest way to check condition of engine is Vac reading at idle

you needa see it to beelive it.. its solid metal tube pipe..?!

it does seem like basics rick, engine just been rebuilt 2000kms ago, no boost gauge - so yer, need to check what its running at idle and on boost - my bets is its only pulling 6-8 psi on boost, it just doesnt feel like anythings there,

ok peeps ill check all the stuff you said starting with boost gauge and reset ecu.. dont mock my piping haha its the new style for 5 second wagons haha

stick up a photo of the turbo end of the piping, so they can see the bend, its pretty radical and i havent seen anything that sharp before..

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
