so i wana do a few mods to my Car v5 sti wagon this is what STM have proposed

Option 1

Link G4 WRX Link (Supplied and fitted), Walbro fuel pump, Service as requested, Link boost control add on, SSI Manifold and Front Pipe, Dyno Tune, Road Tune and Cold start adjustment.

Total Cost $6366.76

OR

Option 2

Link G4 WRX Link (Supplied and fitted), Walbro fuel pump, Service as requested, HKS EVC-S Boost controller and SSI Front Pipe.

Total Cost $6042.26

Note: Walbro full pump includes wiring direct power feed with relay. Service includes items you asked for. The Link turbo add on gives you wastegate boost level and high boost settings. HKS Boost controller gives you high and low boost settings. As mentioned in the last email the tune carries a 30 Day money back guarantee. All prices are estimated as with the manifold/front pipe we may encounter seized bolts etc.

they recon with the mmods they could get 210-220kw out of the car.

Can anyone recommend a better set up? or ways to spend the money better? just wanting some good KW outa the car but still need it to be reliable wouldnt run anymore then 18psi max

Maybe someone knows somewhere that may do the same mods for a better price?

who knows open to suggestions

2k for a link, lets just say 1k for a tune, another 1k for a decent turbo and the final thousand on new injectors and fuel pump. That would get you good drivable power and im totally guessing at the prices

people say they get power for 800 bucks but how reliable is that power? and how accurate is the dyno theyre testing it on?

just my 7.3 cents worth. not to be taken to heart

ouch 6k souhnds steep for htose mods in my opinion..

very steep/..

A link is about 1800 for a plug in one plus the boost control solenoid and air temp sensor should be just over 2k....600-800 for a tune. walbro 200..

Leaves a very expensive set of manifolds and pipe...

TBH i reckon you can get it cheaper elsewere.

Iv spent less than that on my motor and got alot more than that..

I totally agree brad.

The problem most guys have is they do not shop around.

Good to see that f4tbo1 is asking and may save some money ;D

6k for that is just way to rich, plus to pay more if they encounter seized bolts.....WOW! ???

I believe they use a hub dyno - so its about +20kw on a rolling road

reflash will only woork if it's a V7 or newer.

STM work is quite expensive, but very reliable I'm sure. Their re-flash rates are $1250ish (as advertised in their thread here), as opposed to Speed Source up north who will do the same for about $800ish, but they are opposite sides of country, so it really depends on what area you live in.

If you wanted to check out other places, I'd send Speed Source an email, a figure of what you are wanting, and see what they can offer. But only if you can afford to take a week or two off work and stay in Whangarei while they work on your car.

Didnt STM recently say they could reflash V5-6?

Anyway, can you give a more detailed breakdown of what the two options involve? As that seems rather steep for such minimal changes. And whats the current state of the car? Ie what have you already had done to it? Basically is there anything missing from that list that would help to explain the amount?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
