it can be really hard to take them off without breaking them and i think there rather expensive to replace

i took them off my BH5 and like it without them, not seen a BG5 without i dont think.

hey i'm thinking about pulling off the monsoon shields on my yellow bg5 limited. has anyone done this or seen any cars with it done. don't really want to take them off if its gonna make the car look like ass.

the problem is the adhesive used is difficult to remove and often leaves a mess on the paint work.

NO! Leave them on! Some muppet removed them from my WRX and it looks whory.

Seriously, those little pieces of plastic are a lifesaver... when it's hosing down with rain outside, you're going down the back straight of manfield, it's hot as all hell in your car, you're sweating like a pig, the windows are starting to fog up, and you've ripped out your aircon...

To be able to put the window down a crack and stop it fogging up, without getting wet, is awesome.

(can you tell I love monsoon shields)

I think they should be called light drizzle shields, not monsoon shields as they're almost pointless. They stop sfa and make an absolute mess of your paintwork when you take them off.

If you have them, leave them on. They're impossible to get off cleanly without damaging the paintwork.

If you don't have them, don't get them. They're a pita to put on, and are worse than useless anyway.

yeh okay, sounds like a pain in the ass to get rid of them. the foamy stuff that holds them on is staring to deteriorate so was going to pull em off, but might just try fix them up now. Reuben you're right they do look bald without them, makes it look like a standard brighton or something.

I prefer without them. My old BG never had them on and looked good, without the roof racks as well :-)

I do agree with the PITA it is to remove them. I had broken ones on my old impreza. Removed them then took ages to remove the foam stuff. Used a plastic scraper and rubbed off as much as I could manually, then took to the glue residue with white spirits.

Worked well though!

Absolute PITA to get the double sided tape off. Though i've been told 3M does a product exactly for this.

I took them off my lifted Terrano Because Clay banks were getting the better of them, but god do i wish my legacy had them!

Try being a smoker in bad weather in a highly polished legacy with no monsoons. it sucks. badly.

+1 YES!

Looks is just a personal thing. I like them because ^ of their use.

Admittedly, I've never had Monsoons on my Subys, but 'weather shields' on anything else work really well. Especially offroad, you can't afford to have windows too far open, or the inside gets re-decorated!

my 2 cents is they look better with the monsoons on them i used to have them on the GTB Limited like reubenH's but i dont have them on the v4 sti it sux in a smokers terms but i think they make the legacys look finished again i can feel the wrx spoiler no spoiler war coming back hahaha ;D

I dunno what a cars like with monsoon shields, but without them i get a massive amount of wind noise from my frameless windows and if the wind is just right it'll actually suck them out by about half an inch! Scary stuff really :o

It sounds like your windows need adjusting.

And what if they are smashed all to hell and you need to get them off?

Who has a success story doing this? I need a technique that has worked and not required a respray.

If you need to get them off, try a caramel wheel. The only technique that prevents a respray is fitting a new set.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
