so is it possible to run a parallel twin turbo such as VF28's on an ej20?

if yes, how much work that would involve? how much would it cost?

i was talking to STi Type-R the other day about that and he reckon it would be harder and more expensive than just going single turbo..

It would probably be quite laggy on a 2.0

TD04s might be better.

I reckon it would work out the same - turbos could be picked up for very little

I've seen TD04's go for $100-80 most the time. Two TD04's will cost less than one good VF anything :P

But getting the parallel setup would be painful. I reckon just get some TT exhaust manifold, and make custom up-pipes. and custom down pipes. Easy.

haven't quite get your idea Reuben, do you mean stay with the sequential setup but use td04s instead?

Qwerty, why do you think it would be laggy?

Sorry for the hijack Barker

haha

i think im sorted in what im getting..... my bro(mattapo) is taking care of it while he is back in chch for a few days. im now just wondering what to do about the intercooler as it hard to find a v5/6 sti one as my original plan was to get a standard set up going.

An Sti uses all the exhaust to spool up a single vf28 or whatever

A parallel would use half the exhaust power to spool a vf28 etc - so its going to laggier than an Sti for sure.

It would be an interesting drive but not very practical

A 2.5 has way more exhaust flow so it can spool up bigger turbos better

how about using turbos with smaller exhaust housing, like VF35, which has a P15 exhaust housing, would that help?

What's the exhaust housing for the TD04?

td04 uses a 6cm housing or about .4 ar

vf35 would be the fastest spooling sti turbo. Not exactly cheap tho or plentiful in NZ

If IHI naming is any guide - numbers of turbos/parts are not in a logical order !

You certainly can run parallel twin TD04 hybrids in a 2.0L.

These can be max out to a exhaust clipped inducer TD04H-19T using existing TT primary P10.5 --> P14 exhaust housings.

can you give me more info, i have the vf31, vf32 combo on my car

The TT turbine housings are able to accept TD04,TD04L and inducer clipped TD04H turbine wheels and the RHF4 and TD04s share the same size 73mm C clamp

They can be set as straight bolt ups for sequential or parallel.

To run parallel you replace the ECV with adapter pipe with a primary turbo flange.(as the smallest secondary turbine A/R is P16 which is a bit too large to run parallel)

200+ wkw if possible

A td05 or any of the larger subaru vf turbos will work fine for upto a bit over that.

that was my old setup, on a 2.5L it made 240kwatw

now it has parallel vf28s and it appears to be spooling even quicker with 200+hp more potential. I have no idea what it would be like on a 2L though, a bit crap i think. You'd be better off using a slightly bigger than stock single turbo and running lots of boost instead

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
