hks are eagle rods i think bro. just with another 2k on top. i know for a fact the hks pistons are now trust pistons which are a crap copy of a wiseco.,

edit: that info is based on rb26 gear not suby..

JE is what PBMS chuck in some of their engines. AFAIK, they aren't the best out there, but aren't bad at all either. Would call em middle ground from what i've heard. And i've heard eagle and scat rods are the same, or atleast scats where the same as some other brand, i think it was eagle...

I'm satisfied with my scat rods and JE pistons, they were affordable, and have done the trick. I give them shit, but that's the road going version of giving it shit. No idea how they'd hold up on the track.

I wouldn't touch anything HKS anymore either, it's just a brand name, that's it. I've been disappointed time after time with them.

Oh, and factory forged stuff can actually some of the best out there, it's just HUGELY expensive new.

Oh yeah, bearings, my builders tried out ARC race bearings on a few motors, and were hugely disappointed with the quality, they only use factory bearings.

ARC make bearings?

I went with CP & Pauter, have had arias fail on me in the past.

the problem with acl race bearings is that theyre harder than standard bearings and when you run a bearing it farks the crank too

other than the fact i have had them both sitting next to each other and look exactly the same? no.

did you take a photo? cant say ive seen an hks rod that looks like an eagle rod before. They look quite different normally, HKS rods have a chunkier little end among other things

yep. i have a photo of it. my racecar has hks rods in it, and theres a spare set in the box of parts and a guy i was talking to had some eagle rods. they were an old style of eagle but never the less.

When you run a bearing you should chuck the crank anyways - you can never clean the debris from the oilways completely

or so say PBM and others

so if you have a $5k stroker kit you would throw the crank away? what a load of BS. you can clean them out if you know what your doing. pbms just want to make money... i dont replace a hose and use the old fitting... im trying to make money not friends!!!

They just recommend getting a secondhand one thats in good condition - hardly makes them $$$. So im sure they have there reasons.

That is exactly what Al Maclennan did with mine - biffed it and got a second hand one. And he put in ACLs ...

I reckon if you put 5k worth of crank, rods and pistons in and go racing, then you are willing to lose 5k worth of crank, rods and pistons =P

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
