If your gonna use road tires, find some stuffed ones with a hard compound and wide shoulders.  That way the tread blocks dont overheat as quickly and the harder rubber feels nicer when it gets hot, as opposed to new tires which go seriously mushy.

Ill be there on my 16inch michelin street tires, plenty of fun to be had even at those grip levels.

That's what I was concerned about - replying to Munkvy and JoKer. I can see my RE050s being reduced to drool (Then again why am I worrying, it's not like I'll be building up a remarkable amount of speed )

If there are no passengers, it'd definitely be worth lugging down b!tch wheels

Dont forget the Motorkhana too - so having some cr*p tyres to skid up for that would be fun too I will probably bring some worn out rally tyres for that. Although they will probably still have more grip than my road tyres!

Perhaps just bring someone who has a towbar with a small trailer to fill with tyres, spare blocks and brake pads?

Probably depends on the compound also but my flatmates group N EVO on old Dunlop rally tyres had a heap more grip than my road tyres around Ruapuna. He does also have much, much better diffs etc aswell though.
(no straight line speed though!)

Yeah Ive found from driving to and from events on the rally tyres that they generally grip better than my cheap (read free) road tyres But then I dont spend money on road tyres as its not a road car.

I will be bringing the WRX down anyway cash flow allowing. Just looking to link up with a few other cars, make the trip less boring.

Looking Like an April move date anyway so I might even be moving that weekend, lug a moving trailer behind me at MM haha.
