Good on you fatties for getting in amongst it!

To be honest i dont really like visiting the gym overly, as grunting steriod monkeys make me lol too much.

Our league team has its own gym and its far less pretentuious!

There's also a leader board, to keep you on your toes. So far Drunkenmonkey and Big Dave are on the top, bench pressing over 40kg for 8 reps.

hopefully they are doing a lot more than 40kg...  (or maybe you forgot to add the bar in?  that's another 20kg itself)

This bar is a 6.5kg lightweight, and including the bar they are throwing around between 41 and 46kg. These are guys that would have otherwise never done anything in a gym :P So there's a ways to go. We're not talking 1-rep max either, this is for 8 reps.

ok.  yes, i realized that it was for 8 reps.  6.5 kg barbells are not standard, but I did have one that was probably about that, or maybe a little heavier, with a home gym I had back in the states.

good on them for turning up and putting in the effort.

It's not a standard bar, no... new thing manufactured down in chch. I may try and get the info on it, as it's particularly light but can take WAY more weight than is currently being put on ;D

Ha ha ha...

I used to press 130kg (only 1 set of 2 reps at that weight though), used to do flys with 30kg bumbells in each hand...that's free weights too, none of this posing pouch machine crap... :D

But i was a younger man back then... ::)

I'm sure i could do 80, even after the shoulder reconstruction... :P

I actually found that, for stamina and weight loss, mountain biking was way, way more effective than the gym...

Obviously, you don't end up with monster biceps & pecs though...

You're welcome to join in and prove yourself, you know... ;) Since there's so much flexing and strutting going on in here.

I somehow think there'll be some catching up happening - but the idea here is to better one's health and fitness, push oneself...not become a gym buff or athlete.

And the above is why some of us will go for a run around Waiatarua with the Pukekos before class, once we get really good :P The personal training is for strength and toning. The park is going to be for stamina and fitness ;D

At the end of the day this is group personal training, not a smelly men's gym. ;)

You have a name NOW... ;D And a Subaru. Guess you're finally all set for awesomeness ;)

We could probably pick up a whole slew of either blue or white t-shirts and singlets from The Warehouse or Kmart, get 'em either screenprinted or embroidered. Those schmancy singlets with ventilation down the side would be ideal, but 1) expensive and 2) already got logos all over. D'OH.

You need to go post pics of Wicked and gory details in the intro section aaaaaau! <3

Cannot wait for gym. Ate too much and Xmas. And new years. And my birthday. Its a dangerous time of the year...

Haha, did Matt tell you that the alarm on Witch only works for me? Every time he touches it, it starts screaming, yet behaves like an angel when my fingers come near.  ;D
