  2. Thankyou for inviting us along. Apart from shredding both front tyres the car ran well. Glad we could excite a few people with hot laps. See you at the next one!!! If you do have any photos feel free to post them on our Facebook page - Shorttyracingteam or hashtag #Shorttyracingteam and I'll find them

  4. Well, Sunday with @Furze and @Subirex Automotive We towed the RA back up to auckland thanks to Tony Bowman that runs playday, who lent me his trailer. Unfortunately it seems something electrical may have caused an issue and has either leaned out / borewashed Cyl #2 and I now have no compression on that Cylinder with lots of smoke. Thankfully the motor didn't knock or make any funny noises other than running on three so maybe not all is lost. Apparently my link believes my car has visited 10515rpm (not a typo). So back to the drawing board and this will have to be investigated and issue found so it won't happen again. just btw, the Max ECT (engine coolant temp) happened over a month ago when we had a cooling issue, fixed it, checked everything and it was fine, has been running strong.

  5. Lots and lots of Pride. I was technically the first motor to fail, but I never even got the car to an event as it suffered a failure Saturday morning on a coffee run On another note, I had an absolutely awesome time and will look forward to the next time we get this together! The weather was mint the whole weekend, the Banter was on point with @A_Tiny_Chipmunk @94 Leone @Joker @Furze @Kiwi_Fozze @chulozumo and not to mention our Favorite Mechanic @Subirex Automotive

  6. Yeah after finding out that my rear struts are mismatched, I'm keen to get that sorted out pronto. I actually have a set of rear STi Genome orange struts so I may just throw those in, that will raise up the rear a bit and give me a bit more clearance. Then I really only need to sort out some standard STi springs for the front to even out the height.

  7. You'd be right on that count, there's a ball bearing that acts on an arm which locks it, same thing that causes it to lock if you yank on it quickly. This one wasn't unspooling no matter what I did so I had to open it up and remove the bearing and the arm it acted on.

  10. Hey all, so went through quite a few threads an ended up with this info Do the v7 seats fit into a BC5 The answer: Yes, However you sit a good 50mm higher up in the v7 seats My helmet almost touched the ceiling of my RS on the track day, thats with the low sitting v3 seats. Found a few threads where people have done really shitty/unsafe jobs of making the v7 seats fit at the same height (not on this forum) Has anyone got any info on how to get the job done - obviously want to stay away from getting custom brackets made up, modifying existing rails doesnt really work because they are already low, its the seat bottoms that are high If not all good - just keen to close the book of a few things i have so many spare f'ing car parts at my house Cheers

  11. I took the rear bumper off and installed a funny looking piece of plastic that sits under the rear of the car. Nice little $200 mod. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Thanks for a fab weekend. First time on the track and would definitely do it gain :-) Next time would get some expert training to get my game up. Managed 170 down the straight on my last run... only to be passed by wife! She saw the speedo at 210 at one stage. Enjoyed the rally on Saturday (even with a domestic in the car, glad we weren't on the only ones!). Shame we had to head home for work Monday... would have been great to get a couple more laps in and drive home today. Great to meet you all and a big thumbs up!

  18. Well, it didn't end the way I would have liked but I'll be taking away some fond memories. It was nice to make some new friends and get to briefly hit the track. Major thanks to: Ray and Kristy for the ride down to Kapiti and getting us on the Wellington train with minutes to spare. Jason for the epic ride in his fearsome track machine. Bruce McLaren Motorsport park for letting me lock my broken car up in a pit garage until it can be put on a truck and sent back to the South Island.

  20. 10/10 Subaru 12 hour le mans bender Squad. 3 hours sleep and a day of tracking. Would recommend. May or may not have got my brakes hot, but they were great by the time I got home. Cheers to everyone for making it such a great weekend, and everyone was smiling. Perfect track conditions. Unfortunate about the kill count of the weekend, Will have to wait until anzac day to get a final Tally I imagine.. oh special shoutout to @Kiwi_Fozze for getting me set up with launch control. It's too much fun, probably why there are laws that 'technically' prohibit its use on public roads. Hearts for all
