  6. I've seen on Trademe and Ebay electronic throttle controllers for DBW cars. Are they wort the money and do they change the throttle response enough to justify purchasing one. I love my Outback but not so keen on the DBW in it, it seems to lag between steeping on the pedal and anything happening (especially noticeable after driving the RS). I know its not going to give em any more power but would be nice to have the throttle response sharpened up, especially when pulling out onto a main road etc. Is there a way to increase response without one of these?

  9. Yea your second hand stuff sux bro lol. Nah it's all good, fuel pump as just wiring that I put off till the bitter end so totally my fault there. This injector thing is weird tho man. Like you said, I pulled the plug on number 2 and cleaned it with new injector in and no good so swapped back to old injector and it was fine. To make sure this was consistent I swapped back and forth 3 or 4 times between old and new with the same result. I should really pop the suspect injector into another cylinder just to be sure, but you would think that if there was spark related issue/wet plug that it would also miss with the old injector in place. Who knows? Might shuffle them around a little today and see if the problem follows the injector just to be sure.

  11. Heya bro, this happened to me last time i messed around with my injectors (with the same set and also another set - but before they were individually cleaned and tested at huge expense) for me it ended up just being spark plugs too wet (because of the gas flow after taking the injectors out flowing down into the head) it took a couple of goes of doing this Start car (car would run on 2/3) leaving new injectors in take out all spark plugs, clean and let dry off (i just burnt mine off 2-stroke bike style but dunno how good it is for them) start car (car would then run on 3) take all plugs out again, clean and dry off start car (car running on 3/4) take all plugs out again, clean and dry off start car (car now running on 4t) was weird for me, but worked in the end, will probably be super annoying for you if your running coil over plugs - mine was easy as im running the v4 wasted spark setup so i could just pull the h/t leads off etc i also had to change my oil as heaps of gas ended up going into the oil from changing injectors back and forth the injector you took out that was causing the missfire could have been fine if that particular spark plug was dripping wet, but id leave it as is, as for the white smoke - if it is smoke then thats probably not good, however i know you live down the line abit so if it was cold its probably just excess fuel vapping off/burning off, you could have gas in the oil also this the 2nd time something you've bought from me has played up - im starting to feel bad lol! be honestly those injectors were cleaned and tested which is why i put the receipt in there for you! real sorry dude - willing to refund you coin - i dont mind calling up the crowd who cleaned them and giving them an earful if you like ^_ ^

  20. Yes it can and it'd be advisable to do sooner not later. It will hurt power a bit but it's better than hurting the motor more For what it's worth I've been seeing those go for a few grand less quite often these days - that's almost paying dealer prices for a private sale

  21. Looks ok and pretty OEM spec. Maybe offer him 12k and see where that leads? I'd re-grease the Pink shocks and put them back in, cheap Teins probably make it handle worse plus you need a cert. Based on the dusty AF engine bay I would say it gets driven down gravel roads a bunch so the underbody may be in kinda average condition and be prone to rusting later in life. Last but not least, I'm pretty sure there's no 98 Octane in Timaru, so it will have been knocking away on 95 the whole time.

  22. yep physically remove the link from the key barrel to the internal locking mech is an option but dumb if you get flat battery have seen rear door handles fitted to front doors on BG legacys & still kept the keyless entry feature (effectivley deleted key holes
