  3. Shouldn't miss it, i think its the inly beachside coffee cart, somewhere in the middle of the esplanade, location is on the SS event Tactrix? You're making it very hard to decide between the Gravel Express and the RA-R....

  4. If someone is going from Auckland, so am I. I was just going to fly down to Welly and @chulozumo was gonna pick me up and he's gonna take his RA-R while I take his Gravex. But if someone wants to drive down I don't mind sharing fuel costs.

  5. If that happens then perhaps you could consider that a plus. The car sits in the driveway warming up while drinking petrol. Then when you head out and start throwing the car around, your fuel mixes and you get all that sweet ethanol.

  6. Your Garrett is pretty small in the grand scheme of things, I predict full boost in the 4's somewhere, if not earlier.

  7. Here are a couple random photos of my cars. They aren't anything special, just from my iPhone. Aparantly I'm obsessed with the rear 3/4 from looking through my camera roll.

  8. Was planning to pay this week but I need to buy 4 new tyres ($$$)... But I'm definitely coming to the Tui Lunch, the karting challenge (even if I suck at go karts) and the track day (hopefully will do better on the track). @A_J_T You coming as well? Would love to see your Outback on the track @JGM @willisnz @ADIKT What about you guys?

  9. You can generally get away with just doing the oil and filter and a good visual check over, I wouldn't touch the AFM sensor, if its all working correctly leave it alone, reset the ECU if you like but again if its running fine don't bother. While you're doing the filter check for any oil around the rocker cover gaskets and head gaskets, these do fail over time. Check the intake filter and coolant level and that's about all I do. You will have to do the cambelt at some stage in the future if it hasn't been done, generally they are due every 100,000k's

  10. Sorry if this has already been a thread before, but i recently got picked up an 07' Impreza S-GT, 2.0 Turbo 5 Speed. Excellent car and I'm having a blast driving it. Anyway, the car has just under 170000 k's and I believe it's time for me to do a service - oil, filter, etc. What are some other things you guys generally do when servicing your turbo Subaru's? I was having a gander at servicing videos and the general service seemed to include cleaning the AFM, resetting the ECU, and top engine cleaning? I feel like some of it is a bit unnecessary but and pointers are greatly appreciated. I feel and oil and filter change would be sufficient enough?

  13. Second hand info so check it out for yourself but I believe if it sits the ethanol adsorbs water which lowers the octane rating. Unsure how long it takes to be a significant issue.

  14. You should come to the lunch and karting! And you can always come at the track the day after to watch, talk and have fun as a passenger if you feel like it That remains to be proven. All I've done that makes a difference is throw in a RSB and lighter wheels. You have brembos and wider tyres which could give you more lateral grip. You don't need modifications to have fun, track days are always fun (and yes I am going to the track, keen to see what the heavy Outback can do there)

  15. Cost of the lunch ain't the issue so much as the logistics and 6 and a half hour drive

  20. That, my friend, is exactly why you'll use a flex fuel sensor for. There's no issues with mixing e85 and normal petrol, you just mix and go. Thing about flex fuel, is that it scales on the fly what percentage or what map it'll use VS a table it has stored on the ecu for its ethanol content targets. Sent from my TA-1012 using Tapatalk

  22. Or ethanol! (gave me a couple of hundred rpms difference)

  23. Damn how is that so spooly??? Im looking at my dyno chart with vf30 and I get 12psi at 3.5k rpm, 20psi at 4k rpm and 22.6psi at 4.6k rpm meanwhile you got full boost at 3750! Whats the difference between vf30 and vf34?

  24. Nice! An extremely similar result to what I got... which is not surprising seeing as it's almost the exact same setup I had at the time I remember this setup drove really nicely; the only trick with it is finding a way to stay OUT of boost because in top gear at 100kph the turbo is on the cusp of spooling. EDIT: Just look at the curve, 2psi at 2000rpm, 7.5psi at 2750
