As long as it actually works I wouldnt mind. Facebook chat has been fucked for years. Would save people having to send PM's if the person is actually online though

Only thing i would not like about it is people asking straight q's to a person in the know, them becoming flooding with it and getting sick of it etc

and then no one else gets to read it (a lot of interesting things to be learnt from reading other peoples problems)

There's about half a dozen people that sit in there day in and day out... we occasionally have a few that visit us in the hell rooms of IRC

I think it's because we have too many stickies.... might be something I might look into - how to clean them up etc.

Plus this chat room is actually ran by someone in here with no real tangible authority within the club.

If we are to make this IRC chat room the "offial" CS chat room then it needs to have the same mods and the same rules.

The chat is very chilled 99.9% of the time and shouldn't require any modding. You're right in the fact it's unofficial... but meh, it's a chat room!

this could work well, the IRC chat is nice.

with this chat like has been mentiond, control of naughty people and being able to be offline, these are important.
