Nah not had this but I had one that the turbo started to leak so bad that the engine ran on the oil till the oil ran out and it shut down

haha pretty much same s***...scary stuff...had the aprentice do a oil change a while back when i was a diesel mechy and he overfilled the oil...quite alot i must say and i was the one test driving it... going down the road and i was thinking "man this non turbo diesel wasny pulling like this a second ago"...change gears...."wow this is going nuts.....right past the governor......WTF"....

first reaction to do was turn the key off.... still going...clicked to me it was running on oil (also made me click as it was smoking the entier industrial area out) so quickly stoped as fast as i could (engines doing 10 thousand rpm +) and put her in 5th and held the brakes and handbrake and droped the clutch and it was going so hard it was slipping the clutch but revs were slowely coming down...then finally cut out....

got it towed back to the workshop and dam it was his shout for a few weeks LOL...

luckily it didnt throw a leg out of bed and we endid up getting all the oil out of the combustion chamber / intake mani and got the oil to the corect level....all was good LOL

how can you say a 3L/5L/1KZ is old? maybe an old roller rocker 2L, 3B or 12HDT is old..
