Nissan Maxima 3.5L 170kW (so old that it can't be considered a competitor)

They must have been saving money on salaries when they employed designers for this. I still think cars peaked in the late 90s and have steadily been getting uglier since. Its like they cant think of anything else, the only cars that are bucking the trend are Holdens and thats only because they are 10 years behind anyway.

The 90s were good years from the start to the finish for most manufacturers.

I dont think it be a good model to turbo with those tiny pre bent con rods so they can get the longer stroke.

also sucks becoz pretty much nothing will fit from the EZ30s to the EZ36

I know some guys picked up some 3.6 litter parts to see about turbo alications and to see if the parts fitted to the EZ30.

I think the conrod is bit smaller or thinner than the ez30 ones too.

I would be surprised, given the state of things.

With only Group N and production series to develop there motorsport vehicles; we may see a decline of performance models.

Some might even say we are seeing the beginning, what with the New Sti.

I read an article about the WRX Sedan, 190kw and only .5 secs slower than the STI.

Why the extra. .6L for exactly the same power? WTF is going on here. And that torque is also abysmal for a 3.6L. Come on Subaru!

I believe it was done so you could run on lower octain gas.

It does have a bit more power tho.

3.0L was underpowered in the tribeca and the 3.6 helps a bit better from what ive heard.

It has abit more tourque too.

AE also mentions that a Legacy STI is on the way with a turbo'd 3.7-liter producing close to 450 hp

Are those USDM power stats or JDM stats? Because we all know the Yanks have crap juice to run their cars on, it's their fault that the 2.5L STi which makes less power than the JDM 2.0L exists. Remove all the silly US extra emissions stuff, remap it and it should do a lot better.

And does anyone else think the centre dash looks like a Dalek?
