Bolt up cat-delete pipe for v7 sti - does such a thing exist?

I spent a decent while googling and searching and nothing available locally seems to exist.

Anyone aware of one?

Rage *appear* to do one as part of their "system" but I would be unsure as to whether that would bolt into the exhaust if that was the only thing changed

i wud not think its necessary to swap up pipe untill at kleast 220kwatw mark anyway

Rage does do one but it won't bolt up to factory midpipe, you'll need to get the flange changed. Rage is only designed to bolt up to other Rage parts. Also be aware that once you start changing intake / exhaust parts too much, you'll want to get the ECU re-tuned, otherwise it can run like poos. Not saying it will, but it may.

I waited almost a year until I had the money for my tune, until i installed my exhaust and FMIC kit, so I could get it all done at once.

my brothers car has a full exhaust and front mount and runs fine with stock tune

as long as u let the stock ecu controll boost then its mostly all right

tune of course is best thing to do but usually without it u will run ok (not get the best outa ur setup) but by no means will it blow up as the v7 ecu is fairly well setup (rich afrs anyway)

do the mods

then save for a tune last

in the meantime u can still drive it fine..

PS. scooby - ur spec c should be pulling way harder now after tune eh bro!

Which sucks because their old 2 1/2 inch gc8 pipes do bolt straight up to a factory exhaust, 3 inch is a different story though.

AFAIK, from the V7 onwards there is a cat in the up-pipe.

Beware the differences between USDM and JDM/NZDM spec cars though. I have no proof that they had Cat's in their up-pipes and the cars we see here didn't but I have a faint and distant memory of something like that being the case.

sucks if you have a cat in up pipe and it fails and munchs ya turbo . . that would kill turbo spool too having one in up pipe

jdm = no cat in up pipe

personally seen in 2 jdm v7 sti to confirm

nz new - seen up pipe cat in my old nz new wrx non sti

have heard that ti didnt have cat

Mmm +1 for no cat in JDM V7 STi up-pipe. One in the down-pipe though which, if I was to remove, I would just change the downpipe anyway
