Parking near CPIT?

Timmah

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know of a safe place that's near CPIT that I can park my car during the week? Or have a workplace that I could possibly pay a small fee??

My work (A Supermarket across the road) told me that I'm not allowed to park there anymore or I'll get clamped :(

I'm going to try use the CPIT parks but I hadn't heard good things

under no circumstances would I park a nice car there. ive heard of so so so many cars go missing from that car park.surprising to think there are no cameras. gps unit could be an option?

Exactly why I'm too nervous to want to park there.. If I had the money I'd get a GPS unit but not that atm.

I'm going to write a letter to my Store Manager and see if being nice will get him to help out.

Why not park in the supermarket/shopping centre carpark??

Countdown?? That's my work and they told me I'm not to park there anymore while I'm at tech and if I do they'll clamp me.

IMO, I think it's rather unjust, the store manager's reason is because there isn't enough parking space for customers if we do. However, employee's can only park at the end of the carpark, or alongside madras st. The amount of employee's who go to Polytech and work is about 4.

During the week, between 7am and 5pm, there is absolutely never a parking problem.

yea when i was studying at CPIT (years ago now) i was having a ciggy out side and watched as some dodgy looking brown brothers walked through the car park looking in windows and trying door handles.

I did tell campus security/mall cops but meh! no video survelance back then either.

I still cant fathom his (your manager's) reasoning in the current climes of the CHCH CBD... I have been past there now 5 times at various times and it is empty as...

I found out why. Some ass who worked there decided to sell his parking permit, then ask for a new one and then write down his friends number plates.. So I understand why we aren't allowed to park there.

However, that guy left AND the Store manager left and a new one is going to start.

So I'm going to write a nice letter and ask if we can park there again and propose a way to monitor ther permits so someone can't ruin it again.

hmmm how about parking in a tight spot and just getting a steering lock an leaving your wheels in full turn an lock it that way. then you cant be towed or stolen. but still can be broken into.

I would say a good steering lock would set you back 80$

or clamping your own car would be good to

steering lock aint a hindrance to a good tow truck driver

waste of time there

clamping your own car may work for a day or two but then you're stuffed when another clamp appears on the other side that you dont have key for...

That's what the space saver is for!

Unless your unlucky like me and get 2 wheel clamps in the space of 2min

I'm just taking my locknut and head unit with me. My car never has anything in it, so if someone thinks it's worth stealing, then so be it. But there's other, more "interesting" Subby's, Silvia's and Utes around so not to worried anymore.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
