I have been looking at 1... awesome cars. Just not to sure I could justify having a V8 though... Also been looking at a V6 turbo 380hp one... ;D

That's a B5 RS4, much, much better than any S4 !

Getting cheap to buy but watch out for maintenance costs, they can easily bankrupt you.

Here's a nice one;

LOL that's one of the ones I just posted... Would hate to think the insurance costs though :-[

Another great looking, awful to drive Alfa.

It IS reliable though !

;D

Forget the 1.8T A4, terminally gutless, you need a 3.0 petrol/diesel or the v8.

Not sure on insurance costs for the B5 RS4 but probably high as they are relatively rare;

6000+ built - all Avant/wagons, about 2000 in RHD.

35 sold new in NZ, 8 in black.

Pick of the bunch so far.

;)

Handling is not high on the agenda... would be nice though.

Leather seats, nice interior, good looks, enough power to get to 100 in under 8 seconds, manual, low K's, roof racks or ability to put roof rack on is important.

The Alfa would have to be the nice looking wagon on the market at the moment.

It does look nice.

The new 1750 engine must have some grunt as 159s are fat bastards.

You get to a certain stage in your life where it's not all about go.

Go is important still but not the maker or breaker.

Those old bastards in HSVs and shit were young boguns once lol they just grew up and so did their bank balance!

agreed but theres growing up with a nice car and a bank balance or there is growing up with an audi or euro really and having no bank balance. lol. they expensive to fix when they break and even just maintanace. Cambelts are a killer theres 8 different tensinors and bearings.(which need to be genuine) Bugger that. although i would love to have a audi wagon i love them heaps, just to own a bank lol good luck with your next purchase though wish i could be buying one.

Steering back to soobies...

Did any of the legacys come with 6 speed boxs factory that were non STI?

yep all facelift BP turbos were uprated with the 6 speed manual box that the 3.0R cars had (sold in NZ from around 2007 onwards). Facelift BPs sold in NZ were initially 2.0L twinscroll turbo motors (JDM spec) before supply switched to the Aus spec 2.5L single-scroll turbo with less power.

And moving away from soobies again...

I agree with the Evo 9 wagon, although the other half isn't sold on them 100%, plus they are extremely rare with only 2500 built world wide. The only one I seen for sale in NZ was modded to bits. I'm trying to find something as close to standard as I can find.

Yeah I came from the evo camp and almost bought a 9 wagon, fresh import to replace my sedan. They appear intermittantly and there were a very small handful sold NZ new. Insurance is probably more than even a B4 RS4. Insurers just can't get over any mitsi with Evo on the name plate. Anyway bought a facelift GT wagon - very wife friendly, so much so, I hardly ever get to drive it.

I have an old Audi B5 s4 chipped and its much faster than either of my legacies. The leggies handle much better though. I'm going to get adjustables for my S4 and see how they compare then.

The B5 RS4 will be very fast, but beware if theres anything wrong with it. It will cost a lot if its worn out.

Check out that blue S4 v8 wagon I reckon.

Considering the legacies are 2ltr you would sure as s*** hope the RS4 was faster. Just like HSV (Horrible s***ty Vehicles) they arent acheiving much when it takes 4 extra cylinders and at least 3+ litres to beat something like a little Subaru. Good job it never rains in NZ since Ford and Holden have no traction under power, corners or pretty much anything other than dry straight drag conditions.

New price vs new price, what you would save buying a new legacy or STi over buying a new RS4 you could spend tens of thousands on mods on the Subaru and it would kane the RS4 all day.

Look at some of the 600+hp Subarus in the states

Also stock Sti has better time round Nurburgring than the stock Audi so it depends if you want a drag car or an all round performance car.

Haha well put that man! I test drove a manual hsv a while back and hated it, so heavy and clumsy compared to our Blitzen and i guarentee our Blitzen would thump the hsv any day. It was ok just cruising on the motorway but show it some bends and it shat itself, pitching and rolling like a fat chick on a waterbed ;D

At the end of the day though, the legacy is still a shitty legacy, and the audi is a semi-classy euro.

Sure if you buy into the whole euro = better myth.

I worked at BMW for years so believe me I know the reality.

Audis are one of my favourite European makes but comparing like for like with RS series Audis against Legacies is silly.

I already have two gen 4 legacies :P

Same ;) Good cars.

Excuse my ignorance... what is a gen 4 legacy? If posible a photo would help ;D

They are the BP/BL models the 4th gen that came after the BH/BE and probably the best legacy yet.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
