I dont understand 2lt N/A RWD vs 2lt turbo AWD....physics suggest the eski has no chance, mabey your boss cant drive........

He can definitely drive alright, but its a classic rally so we're restricted to the rules from 1991-92 apart from the big restrictor they used to run (basically it's not a smart idea to run a 4wd in a classic event like the Silverfern but we didn't want to rally the Datsun). The rwd cars aren't restricted in any major way so when you get an Escort with a 2.4L Cosworth Duratec motor, Escort WRC independant rear end/diff and 6 speed sequential, you've got no chance (even when the Escort needs to be rebuilt nearly every night). Then there's all the big fast stages in Otago where the guy in the Porsche was talking about seeing 260kph on a few straights yet the Legacy can barely pull 210kph as it has no power above 6k rpm.

Last time the event was won by an FD3S RX7 that had loads of power and really well set-up chassis. I think ours is the only 4wd entered this time around.

Although I'm gutted this year as the boss won't give me the time off work so I'm only helping in the buildup to the event. Although in saying that, the car is in Lawrence today doing a rallysprint and I'm not helping with that either so basically I just go to RDL after work to drink their beer...

He has a BP 04 BP5 (2.0t), looked like it has a full exhaust, 20" rims and some brembos tucked up in there... yes they retain their factory disks so i was right (who ever i had that discussion with).. Reflash is on the cards i think.. anyway.. he might find this thread, he signed up last night. Welcome Chris.

huh? from v7 (exluding the spec C's) brembos came factory on all STI's

and for the record - the car in question is a 04 LEGACY, not a WRX.. (or have i missed something between your's and scotties comment?)

I think you have, i think he's asking do some of those legacys come with Brembos factory, or was it an sti upgrade kinda thing

its not an "upgrade" as such - they come factory on STI's v7+ (ignoring spec C's), wrx's come with the smaller 4 pots.
