i need to source a tensioner for the serpetine belt on a BPE. also the idler bearing / roller.

can provide chassis numbers and the like.

the dealership wants my left kidney, and wont give me the P/N..

armstrong. normal parts guy who is top notch wasnt in, got some homo that felt i needed to be stiffed.

ebay has OEM parts at half the price. fuck supporting the local shop at those kinds of mark up

Them two bearings in the idlers on these 3.0 motors should be replaced approx every 80thou Km. (Advice from one that knows!) Apparently IF one seizes it WILL strip out the thread in the ali bracket it they are both mounted too! :\'( :\'(

They are also std 6309 something or other bearings available fro saeco or other bearing supplier.

I need to do mine! :-[

I do not know exactly what they are yet. However im keen to find out as mine has done 120thou now. :-\

I rang Subaru Armstrong today and spoke to Ian.. have dealt with him a number of times and he\'s a good guy.

I need to do a cam belt job on the new car, I\'m going to see if I can acquire said parts from online as well.

Get 2 of these from bnt and just change the bearing. Way cheaper haha

no im told the tensioner mech wears out itself and needs replacing. not just the bearings

Yes they superseded. FYI I haven\'t seen a tensioner fail yet on an ez30. I personally change the bearings as at least if the tensioner fails on me it doesn\'t damage anything. Unlike when a bearing goes

talking to rick (ichi) they do lose their tensioning ability.

mine is now so bouncy you cant get a long screwdriver on it to listen to the bearings.

tl:dr il be replacing the bearings, and the tensioner portion.

I looked at that opposed forces site, but couldn\'t find much info for an older BG5 1996 Legacy 2.0 litre.

Unless I wasn\'t looking in the right place..

note its a US site. and they didnt get the BG5.. they got a different variant (with flat roof) model code escapes me
