Impreza on Hampton Downs

Hi Guys, so thinking of taking the suby down to hampton downs for a twlight session drive was wondering if there is anything i should be weary about before pointing it on the track? i do know about the sump and baffling it which i havent done yet but dont intend to through it hard and fast around the corners...any input would be awesome

I would just take i easy but have fun : no need to go nuts on "track prep"

top up 500mL oil and have a blast, shoot even stick to speeds under 150kph and you can still have so much fn you run out of face to grin with and end up with Joker scars

avoid prolonged excessive G-forces on a couple of the notorious corners is the big thing to remember

its not actually a RACE and you wont win a prize for coming first

Check your pads, rad fluid, brake fluid too.

take a spare set of old rotors if you have some handy maybe? Tracks are god for craking them your first time for some reason

Hampton downs is a notorious subie killer... I personally would have a well baffled sump around there, but I also know I\'d be fanging around there. If you can trust yourself to not, then by all means, enjoy :-)

We ran just a basic pbms sump. And it was fine for 5 laps.

fine for 5 laps?! did the car die after 5 laps or something? lol yeah i am bit worried bout the control part around the corners and not going hard, might just have to be light footed on the day i guess... am going with another mate who is taking a 1.6l car so will just go around to muck around hopefully...

Will be good to see A Subaru there lol. Last session there wasnt even one in the non caged cars feild aka "street cars" and only one in the caged "race cars". Ill be there again no doubt .

A while back I ran my old GC8 there with a healthy motor and stock sump... Just on road rubber and took it easy on the one RH sweeper other then that its still going 3 years later at decent power too ;D.

MEAN! the GC8 looks like was giving that V8 sti a run for its money haha... thats good to know... did you suffer from brake fade or shudder on the discs after few laps?

I think the point is a baffled sum is not a MUST HAVE for having fun on a track, especially not on Road Tires, once you start playing with higher grip levels/Good road tires/semi\'slicks then yes I would recommend it

Lol yeah the car insurance part will be interesting, isnt it void on the track? haha so hoping dont visit the tires on the side or the barriers at any time.

It should be sweet man, just dont go hard around the last corner before the strait. That one has the potential to pull all your oil to one side.
