ECU Talk : megaSquirt vs Link

^ would this be ideal for a 300hp v2 wrx build? (Tdo5 turbo 18lbs, yellow injectors, green afm, boshe pump, split rails, plat pfr6g\'s. (dont worry forged internals ;D ).

Or would possum born Link be best? I do not care about Launch Control, traction Control, Nitrous,Water Injection, or Flat shifting ecu controls.

Will be dyno tuned apon installation.

Talk to your tuner. At the end of the day an aftermarket ECU is only as good as the tuners ability to tune it.

Its a bit down the track yet, but thought I would start educating myself on ecu\'s. Just curious as to anyone who might have horror stories about this product or knows it well. I only know of this one and possum born. Heard them speedlab ones are rubbish.

ive used one on my car before. does the job really well. but as above.. the tuners ability is what really matters and the car I used it was an s14

I\'ve heard the megasquirts were pretty good too

Personally I recommend Link, you can get one for a decent price for your model, well known NZ brand, lots of room to change things up and expand later etc. etc.

The other thing to consider is a reflash. Theres a few places reflashing all sorts of ECUs now including Fast Four Services on here who im pretty sure do all WRX ECUs now.

For what you\'re trying to achieve, and that price, an old PossumLink would do just fine.

I say G4 also massive headroom with them and really good resaleable value. Stinger are a good standalone ecu too. If going piggyback the map-ecu 2/3 stuff seems to do the job well.

Possumlink will do what you want as above but if the bug bites it wont take you much further. Def go laptop tuneable as per above again.

Possom link are good and can be had cheap, they are old and do show it. But bang for buck great.

Megasquirt can be quite good however you have to do a lot of work your self, Im using one in my kit car and its great however there is lots of information available for setting them up for a MX5 so it was easy enough but a lot do struggle.

The G4 ecu\'s are awesome, so much ability, it all depends what your trying to achieve.
