What Heads do I have - maybe a stupid question

Does anyone know what heads came out on a 98 JDM wrx... has Yellow injectors etc

would be shim over if its a wrx I would think. is that a v4?

you see thats the thing, im getting some very conflicting info,

and im trying to avoid pulling it apart to see, as im not really in a position to be doing that sort of engine work at the moment.

im sorta 50/50 without poping a rockercover. all ya need is a jack 10mm and 12mm.

I know the jdm v4 had the yellows, orange afm and sti ecu. suppose it would have the heads to go with the ecu for the larger rpm limit.

My experence says they are shim over..

So many early WRX\'s have had engine swaps and what not by now days so who know 100% :.

As above tho to get a cam cover off is not too hard

Sounds like alot of work... then knowimg my luck it wont reseal right and will leak... suprisingly theres no leaks in the engine at all currently....

WRX 96 EJ20G, Bucket HLA 93 - 97. Shim Under Bucket also used in these years.

WRX 98 EJ20G, Shim Over, Smooth Valve Covers, TB Mounted IACV

STI 98 EJ20K, Shim Over, Smooth Valve Covers, Manifold Mounted/divorced IACV

WRX 99 EJ205, Shim Over.

Yeah, but it gives a pretty good indication of what was/should be attached OEM.
