Semis will exacerbate any existing problems you're having. I'm not really familiar with Ruapuna but one has to assume the big sweeper would be a prime spot for it.

There's a lot of approaches people take - overfilling, running a baffled sump, things like that. At the very least you probably want to change to a plumbed-back catch can setup so that you don't dump oil into the intake if it get slurped up a breather.

I would look at a baffled sump. KillerB do one, and Possum Bourne motorsport will modify your one pretty cheaply.

PBMS also advised against overfilling and as boon said, it can get into the intake and cause detonation.

Baffled sump is 2 day turnaround from PBMS.

Ahaha. Depending on time of year and their work load!

Macbilt in Wellington make a great one if you are looking at spending a k or so on a baffled and its made local! Multiple members use them including me with no issues.

Oh and im just down the road and could powder coat it for you ;)

PBMS also advised against overfilling ...

Is that the official PBMS advice, or one guys opinion? The reason I ask is that around the paddock, down the clubrooms, at the pub, in every garage, and in my own experience of always running 5 litres (except prior to running a bearing at Manfeild when I didn't), the advice is the opposite. Yes you might get some oil vapour in the intake, but stock Subarus also run very rich.

The Hankook Z214, while a DOT rated tyre, is basically a full slick with 2 grooves around it, and a lot better (grippier) than what I would class as a "semi slick" with actual tread pattern. I have spoken with a few people who have raced on these tyres as well as the Hankook F200 full slick and they say there is virtually no performance difference, so personally, I would be fairly cautious on using these with a standard sumped Subaru (of course this is dependant on your particular driving style and how capable/set up your car is as well).

Do you have a decent aftermarket ECU in the car? (ie: Link G4) - if so, then I would suggest fitting an oil pressure sensor and having a limit table set up that will activate a limiter to save the engine if oil pressure starts to drop. That is something that can be easily sorted before your track day on Monday. Just requires a sensor, a bit of wiring, and configuring settings in the ECU... if you are in Christchurch, then you could see if NZEFI could do the job for you.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
