Hi

Has anyone installed an aftermarket drivers seat for their legacy. The standard seat is good but does not have enough bolstering and I find myself sitting on rather than in the seat if that makes any sense. If I swap with an Evo seat do I need to get compliance?

Thanks/

Knockoutgiant has an evo racaro in his bit unless you put one in with airbags it isn't exactly legal without a cert. is yours a pre or post facelift? Mine is a post facelift and i'll be swapping it out for a prefacelift seat at some point. Pre's are the same as 3rd generation legacy's which were miles better

Post Facelift, which one is the pre facelift seat, are thought all gt's had the same drivers seats? Thanks

Newer recaro's would. The ones knockoutgiant had didn't look like they had them but could be wrong.

When the facelift legacy's came out they changed the seats, to be wider and flatter so way less support.

Just hop on trademe or something and you'll be able to see the difference between the two styles.

I was going to chuck some b4/gtb (3rd gen) ones in mine but to stay lawfull they would have to be rev d, 2001 and later, as as far as i'm aware they are the only ones with seat airbags.

Having previously had a 3rd gen legacy i can tell you they were much much better and are near the top of my list of things to do

Thanks Gents, understand now! Amazing how they got this so wrong... let me know how you get on Andy_Mac.

If i had to put money on it i'd say its down to the increasing size of people worldwide. Wouldn't want to lose sales purely because someone can't comfortably fit in the seat.

Mine will be a long drawn out process since i'd kind of like to get a set of heated leather ones to match what i currently have. And if not that then i'd probably go for a newage sti seat. Would save a bit of weight on motors and such.

okay cool, same here just going to go ahead with EVO or STI seat. don't want any electrical gubbins.

Newage sti seats, although they have airbags, are still very wide. I slide around a little bit in mine if i'm in the wrong clothes (fabric type) really want a set of sti recaros but they cost moonbeams

anyone ever end up installing new seats? I have an '06 facelift BP 3.0R and hate the seats, once you start pushing in the corners I move all over the place.

Same issue as me then. Hate the stock seats but can’t do a lot about it without going for aftermarket/different OEM ones with airbags and repinning connectors or chucking a resistor in the circuit.

Not sure what certifier’s think about this and if it’s even remotely legal for either option considering the relatively ’new’ age of these vehicles

@boostin To me that says it needs to be older than 14 years or extensively modified or for motorsport use to qualify for cert approval? But seems specific to frontal impact safety, and surely seat ones are for side impacts? Do JDM ones have occupancy sensors or do both fronts just go off regardless?

In another note it’s kinda shocking to think these cars are only two years away from being 14 years old :o

Some pre facelift ones have airbags in them. Most my ones do. Has to be a limited or spec b

Any idea if the plugs are the same? As in, will it drop in without kicking up a stink?

An airbag is an airbag. Worst case chop the plugs off and bullet it.

I take that to mean that if the vehicle is 14yo or older, it can be removed and LVV certified, but under 14 years cannot remove. My interpretation anyway.

Figured that’s the case but can’t imagine bullet connectors is something a cert guy likes.

Yea that’s how I read it too, so no go for these cars for a few more years.

Might have to start looking for some pre facelift seats then.

Believe they have less electric features from memory? Same adjustments but without memory settings?

Correct. 8 way power adjustable, but no memory.

If Mr Anal cert guy doesn't like bullets, solder and heatshrink it. Bullet it later on if you want to pull the seats out for whatever reason. If they're connected and the light is off, I don't think they will fail it.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
