Car trailer transport

Hey guys, ive just brought a car trailer. Its in Tauranga and im in christchurch. Has anyone ever used a shipping company to tow trailers?

Jeffs transport has quated $2800 to put it on a truck and have a policy to not tow them.

Ive done alot of googling and ringing around with no luck...

Or if anyone happens to know anyone coming down. Ill cover all costs

I would say you are somewhat screwed If jeffs wont do it then i dont know of any others

I would on sell, and buy one in the south island

find someone in Tauranga with space to pick it up for you and then on sell

Tell them the boat fell off.

Ive had it made for me. Ill come up myself and get it as a last resort. Just thought id see if anyone kknows companys that can tow them down as its got wof and reg.

Might have to road trip it.

Yeah was cheapish, few years back was quoted only $500 to get my car sent up by train from chch to aux...But that could've all changed now.

Trailer is 2.5m wide. Thats the problem

they fit containers on the trains easy enough and they are 2.5 wide, no harm in trying.

I rang someone and they told me they are 2.4m wide. Will double check. Thanks

Spent some time today putting car on the trailer. Seems to be a very good solid made trailer. I cant recommend Kerry from Kiwi Haulers in Tauranga enough. If your tight for space at your place and just don't have room like me for a enclosed trailer then I recommend these so they can go in your garage. Also tilts, electronic brakes, slide out ramps... And very good door clearance for low cars

whoa neat, knew it had to be special for that effort wow how does the towbar detatch?

The draw bar has 3 caster wheels under it. Two at back and one under the coupler. Its so easy, just back car in, chuck a trolley jack on drawbar and lift it 30mm or so and put two axle stands either side and lower onto them. Then undo one bolt near front wheel on both sides and the back lowers to ground and then just slide on the casters under it.

Alot easier than i thought. Takes 10mins.
